How can I get into my ipod if I forgot my pass code?

you might have to reset it to factory settings

The 4th generation iPod is a portable media device that can play music, videos, and display photos.

Occasionally, you may run into issues with the iPod where the player has trouble working.

Restoring your iPod to its factory settings will often correct any software issues the player may have by wiping all of the data off of the iPod, and restoring its software to its original condition.

Restoring your 4th generation iPod can be done in just a few minutes, and requires the help of your computer.

Connect your iPod to your computer using the included USB cable, just as if you were going to sync it to add music or other data.

Launch iTunes if it does not launch automatically, and select your 4th generation iPod from the list of devices on the left side of the screen.

This will launch information about your iPod in the main iTunes window.

Click the "Restore" button in the middle of the iTunes window to begin restoring your 4th generation iPod to its factory settings.

Your computer may ask you to enter an administrative username and password to continue. A progress bar will then appear letting you know the status of the restore.

Wait for the progress bar on the screen to finish and then disconnect your 4th generation iPod.

The iPod is now restored to its factory settings.

You can reattach the iPod to your computer and set it up again, just as you did the first time you used it.

hope this helps

My mp3 philips just woudnt update. it use to get stuck while updating?whats next?

Hi achokans,

I would suggest trying to update firmware via the Repair process, which will also restore your player to factory settings. Instructions are below, and you can also find more information at the Philips Support site (including FAQ's, software, etc.):

First you can try a Soft Reset by:

Connect your HDD/GoGear to the power supply with the AC/DC adapter, do a soft reset by pressing and holding the 051024111737_406.gif and the volume + keys at the same time for a couple of seconds, then switch on the Jukebox with the 051024111737_407.gif button normally. If this is unsuccessful, attempt the Repair by: Restore hdd factory settings by pressing MENU/HOLD; scroll to Factory Settings ---> Restore; Press 2 to confirm You can also reach a Consumer Care agent by calling 1-888-744-5477. Hope this helps! Let me know by rating this solution. Thanks!

I want to restore orriginal settings to my ipod

To restore your ipod to factory settings, plug your ipod into your computer, then open itunes and then under devices click on your ipod and under version click on the restore button. It will then ask you whether you want to restore your ipod to its factory settings and that all your media and other data will be erased. Then click on restore.

Remember this will wipe all your settings off your ipod but you will have an option to restore contacts, calendars, text messages and other settings.

Hope this helps.

I had the "Factory Diag Mode" and was dismayed that I could not find a solution in any of my online searches. But I finally got it to work with only a minor side-effect, so I thought I'd share.

I originally tried the following from the "Live XM" mode:
Go settings, setup, restore defaults, restore setting only.

That didn't seem do anything for me. Then I tried the same thing from the "My Music" mode.
That fixed it!!!
The only thing that I noticed that I lost was my channel favorites (hardly a worry at all). All of my saved songs and playlists are still there!!!

Hopefully this will help a poor soul in need
