It sounds like the encoder settings are incorrect. See if the settings on the printer LCD panel match up with the options the printer physically has. On the display panel, press Menu> Setup Printer> Encoder settings> to see if it says "none" or "yes" for each of the options as you scroll down. When the printer has any one of the encoders physically installed, the mechanical direction of the drive train is reversed. The display settings correct for this by reversing the direction of the motor.

SOURCE: Problem on card print using Fargo DTC525 Single Side Print model

I think the problem is in the printer definition. Perhaps the software is calling for the output to be duplexed. The printer does not have a duplex installed so it creates the error. On the other hand, if the printer does have the duplex option, then you are looking at a printer problem.

SOURCE: card hopper jamming

Could be that your cleaning unit is not installed or is old. Or, it could be too few cards in the card hopper. You could apply a little weight to the cards in the hopper to see if that helps. And/or try changing out the cleaning cartridge.

SOURCE: My printer has an error on the screen and I don't

Go to the manufacture's website to see if there is an owners manual hat ou can download; if that doesn't work Google the manufacture name and problem, you'll get directed to User's Groups, and should (hopefully) get the answer there.

It's a bummer having to use that approach, but there's a load of internal things to be messed up, and that can be done too easily.

I hope this works out for you.

Stuck card in printer

- Open the lid.
-Lift the print head.
-remove the ribbon.

Now, on screen you will have the options to move the rollers back and forth. Take a look into the printer, us you move the rollers, to see if the card is dislodged and moving.

Try to avoid using any time type of adhesive-backed cards, as they cannot take much temperature and become warped. Regular CR-80 pvc cards work best with a DTC style printers.

Sticky back card static causing them to stick togeather and not feed from the hopper

Hello Richard,

Sorry for the delay in replying to your request.

Feeding cards (especially self-adhesive types) from the rear hopper, can sometimes be frustrating. You have done the right thing by separating the cards (this applies to all cards - just fan down both sides like a dealer would with a pack of cards). This important.

Please try the following additional trick though;

Remove the rear hopper.
On the front panel, select Menu -> Test Card -> Yes (to confirm).
The rear hopper roller will start to rotate.
Take a fresh cleaning card (from the cleaning kit - 3633-0053) out of its wrapper. It MUST be damp.
Fold it into a loop and manually hold the cleaning card against the hopper roller as it turns (with gentle hand pressure). The idea of folding the cleaning card is to prevent it from being accidentally dragged into the rear of the printer.
After about 12 seconds, an Out of Cards 02:00 error will be displayed. Press Retry.
Turn the card over and repeat until there are no Black marks left of the cleaning card. Repeat as necessary moving to a fresh part of the cleaning card each time.
If the card should accidentally go too far into the printer, a Card Jam 06:05 error will be shown. Just open the lid, and close it again to clear the card jam error. The sequence will carry on from the previous stage (the hopper roller will start turning again shortly after closing the lid).
Once you are happy the roller is thoroughly clean, on the next Out of Cards error, press Cancel.
Discard the cleaning card which will probably have dried out by this point. Replace the rear hopper.

Card feeding should then be trouble-free.

If the problem should persist, contact your local Magicard support centre.

Kind Regards,

My datacard printer ribbon is supposed to get upto 500 images, but it is skipping every other color series so I am only getting 250 images

Every time you open the printer, it advances CMYK panel 01 to position the print head. This can cause loss of ribbon. Avoid opening the printer to the maximum you canoptimize your prints.

The printer shows head lift error can I solve this problem ?

I had the same problem with my fargo dtc 550.
I changed the "O" Ring rubber attached to the printhead and that solved the problem. No more head lift errors.

Hi i have fargo dtc525 card printer i am using that printer scince 1 year, now not working error massage HOPPER 1 EAMPTY this type of message showing please tell me solution.

hopper 1 empty means that you do not have any cards in it. The printer has 2 hoppers, and your program maybe defaulting to hopper 1. Select hopper 1 and cards to it and that should solve the problem.

Resolving a Card not fed error (Cards will not feed off the Hopper)

Make sure that your hopper card thickness guage (located on the right side of the hopper) is set to 30 ml or above if you are using standard 30 ml PVC cards. You may also need to clean the printer with a Fargo printer cleaning kit for this printer.

Also check to make sure to check your PVC cards. Sometimes they have too much static and can stick together not allowing them to feed. Fan the cards before placing them back in the hopper to make sure they are not sticking. In this process, try not to touch the printing surface of the cards as oils from skin will cause defective printing results.

The cards are sticking

Hi There,

0.126 is not a Magicard error number. On a Rio 2 printer, the error number will be displayed on the LCD display. It should look like 02:?? or 04:??, etc.

Are the cards feeding out of the hopper?
How far into the printer have they gone before you get the error?
Are any of the dye film panels printed before the card gets stuck?
Are the cards ejected when you click on 'OK'?

The most common reason for the dye film sticking to the cards are if they already have overcoat printed on them (you can not print over overcoat). Also, if you are printing very dense images, try selecting 'ColorSure' mode in the printing preferences, Try reducing the YMC printhead power in printing preferences.
