Cracked LCD Display Screen

When I turn it on, there is a major crack in the LCD screen.  Can this be repaired?  If so, how much, how long?

thanks,

Wanda

#1- Find out the price through your camera's website (online help)
ex. Kodak.com, etc.
#2- If too costly, repair yourself or buy a new one.
From what I hear (if not under warrenty) it is best to buy a new camera. I have close to the same problem.

You can find replacement parts & entire new & used cameras on Ebay. Or you can keep looking on this site, there are several websites for replacement parts.

Good Luck.

Problem with the screen is cracked

For a Plasma or a LCD a cracked screen is the end of the set.

In Plasma sets the "panel" or Plasma Display Panel the cost of the part is as much and usually more than the set cost new.

Time for a new set and some major stores at purchase also offer insurance policy for this kind of event.

  • Dear Sir:

Turn off the power to your computer and unplug all cables connected to it. Remove the battery, if one is installed.

  • 2

Locate the covered screws around the cracked screen. Remove the rubber or plastic covers, then unscrew the screws.

  • 3

Gently remove the plastic frame around the cracked screen and set it aside. Disconnect any power cords or cables going into the LCD screen.

  • 4

Remove the cracked screen and slide the new screen into place. Replace any tape or plastic fasteners that hold it in place.

  • 5

Reconnect all internal cords to the screen. Screw in the frame and replace all the screw covers.

  • 6

Reconnect the power supply and all external cables to the LCD screen and switch it on.

    sincerely. God bless you

Sorry to say your LCD screen is cracked, it happens a lot with the Sony DSLR-A300 and A350. The solution is to remove the cracked LCD and replace it with a new one. The repair isn't that difficult, but you have to be careful removing the LCD or you will break a latch holds two FPC cables together and then will have to replace yet another part that takes MUCH more labor.

I did a Google search for "sony a300 lcd repair" and at #2 I saw an online digital camera repair shop that has done tons of this repair over the last few years.

    Hope this helps!

Lg phone screen cracked but when you look it closely it doesn't have crack lines. crack lines only appears when it is turned on and not present when the phone is turned off why am i suppose to do?

The glass of the lcd screen is not cracked, but internally the display is'nt working perfect, few lines are not displayed on the screen which makes us to assume that the screen is cracked which is not the case, you need to replace the display, it its one or two lines you can use the same display screen, their won't be any damage to your phone due to non display of few lines.

I have a samsung hd lcd tv. When it's turned on it looks cracked.

There are no settings that could produce that result.

On most LCD TVs there is a LCD controller board that controls the vertical/horizontal display output. It sounds like your LCD controller has failed.

When you say 'appears to be cracked'...you mean it is actually physically cracked? That is a different issue altogether. I would say 99.9% of screen fractures are due to rough handling or a stray impact with a Wii controller, but rarely screens can fracture due to manufacturing defect or a sudden change in temperature or altitude.

    Cracked screen

The LCD screen itself often cost more then the tv set itself. If you have accidental insurance you might see if they cover this, otherwise this will make a nice lava lamp like art display for a bedroom wall.......
