Question about Technics Audio Players & Recorders
Have tried numark 101 mixer, but sound is muffled and distorted

Take one with a balaced output and well if you want a nice sound then the allen & heath xone 23 http://www.allen-heath.com/ahproducts/xone-23/ is real nice and well build and they have also the c version with build in sound card, but that unit is a lot more expensive . But when it comes to soundquality, this the one. Numark makes perfect tables, especially the x serie , i have a x-5 for scratching but my denon has the best parts for it\'s price , with real good capacitors, only your choice will be the xone. and costs 300 euro, three times more expensive then the numark. and with build in soundcard 200 euro extra. For less you don\'t buy a lot and don\'t take the reloops, those are very old and upgraded four times. Greetings richard

More than likely your RCA cables are going bad, and will need to be replaced. Not the hardest self-repair, but you will need to have some soldering skills. In addition, caution should be taken when taking apart your turntable.
Check out the following videos for self-repair assistance on these wonderful DJ turntables.
If you think it's too much for you to do yourself, get some professional assistance. Shouldn't cost too much for repair.
Hope this helps some.

What do you mean it didn't work? What happened? Are you getting no sound, did the plugs not fit? Please be more specific.
If you are not getting any sound, make sure you connected to the LINE input of the mixer - the PT01 has Line Level outputs, so you CANNOT connect it to the Phono input, as the signal will be too hot for the mixer - so make sure it is in the LINE INPUT. Also make sure the toggle switch on the mixer is set to LINE. There is nothing else to this set up, raise volumes, and that's it. It's very simple.

You could be getting acoustic feedback from the speakers to the TT's. Lower the volume or somehow isolate them from room sounds and vibrations.

Could be a couple of things. Could be the alignment, weighting, tracking or all of those causing this. It could be the gain structure on your mixer is not set and is too high. Maybe that the output of the cartridge is to high for standard mm inputs
