Check the input source to make sure it is set to HDMI.

SOURCE: invalid format when conected to laptop

Go into your control panel. Select display. There will be a picture showing 2 screens. Select the 2nd screen, and lower resolution to it's minimum. Apply and test. Slowly increase till you find what your happiest with. Worked for me using a ASUS laptop and LG60'plasma.

SOURCE: Every time i try to

hi welcome to fixya
that is mean the video format from your ps3 is not compatible, and your tv is not supported with the same video format that is why invalid format comes up every time you play. so just use only the same format in your tv unit to recognized the source and to get out of this problem.thanks for consulting the fixya.

SOURCE: My TV was FINE for months after I purchased it. Making zero changes to the HD cable box which was always set on 1080i. All of a sudden I get this Invalid format error out of nowhere. Don't tell me

If you have tried using different input devices, looked for loose contacts
in power outlet, RC Jack, cable and connectors, the TV might need service.

Why does the Wii not work properly when plugged into our new LED TV? It is sluggish - color is fine.

If you are not already using one, I would suggest purchasing a high def component cable for your Wii. They're not very expensive and you will notice an improvement on your LED TV:

Hello.

Here is what it says in Nintendo Wii SHop:

Some newer-model televisions may have difficulty properly displaying some Virtual Console games downloaded from the Wii Shop Channel. If you are experiencing problems (such as a blank screen but you can hear the game's audio), please try the following:
Try changing the way your Wii console is connected to your television. For instance:
    • If the Wii console is connected to a VCR or cable box, try connecting the Wii directly to the TV (how to).
    • If the Wii console is connected to the TV directly, try connecting it to a VCR (how to).
    • If possible, try connecting to another TV.

If any of the above are successful, it is recommended you use the connection that works. If the Virtual Console game still did not display properly after trying different connection types, please call 1-800-255-3700 to discuss available options.

I bought a Nintendo Wii off of a guy and I didn't realize when I did that it came with Hi-Def RCAs. My TV only has a standard RCA hookup. I was told that I could still use the Hi-Def RCAs but what colors...

Those are not High Def RCAs.

The cables you received are called "component" when the picture is broken down to its component colors, red, green, and blue.

When compared to "composite" cables (RCA), the yellow is all the components in one, which is the video cable. The other red and white are audio.

Your component should be RGB, Red & White (audios)

What you need to do is buy a composite cable for the Wii, which shouldn't cost that much--usually under $10 bucks. Save the component cables for when you get a new TV since those are the more expensive of the two!

Wii "invalid format"

Back-up games cannot be played until you get your Wii modded. if you didn't do this yet, you cannot play them. Your TV has to do nothing with it, its the format you put on the CD.

Tip: Try to use Verbatim disks, they can be read on the Wii.

Tip: You need to put the file on the disk as a ''.ISO'' format.
