Dose the server beep sound no display

If you only hear beep sounds but no display on your monitor it might mean a los of different issues.
Chech if your monitor works, connect it to another computer. If it woeks count how many beep sounds do you hear when you turn on your computer., go to google and input "meaning of beep sounds" Depending on numbre of beeps, you can get a fast diagnosis. Probably you have ahardware issue. If it is not tne monitor, it is your server and I suggest you should take it to a reapir shop

Dell PE 1800 showed one SCSI 73G non critical state on a RAID 5 array of 3 disks. Shutdown the server, removed the SCSI disk and booted, server booted but continous beep sound, trying to rebuild the array...

Hi, try to renew the drivers and firmware from here:

Continuous beep related to ram ,try to remove ram and insert it, and if u still get beep change your ram.

Continious beeb sound is ram or cpu failure. Is the cpu fan spinning ??
If not the cpu is over heating.
Try to remove the ram modules and clean the contact points
with a piece of paper. Be very carefull when you do that !!!!!
And blow the dust out of your server, with a high pressure can.

Hope this was helpfull.

How to turn off Beeping sound

Not sure what the beeping sound is but if it is an error code beep, go into your BIOS at startup and disable audiable alarm for boot errors.

Good Luck

I have a poweredge 4200 which has a pedge error in the event viewer - device scsi port 2 did not respond with in the timeout limit - is this a harddrive failure? There doesn't seem to be any errors showing...

If you're getting this error message very frequently then change the hard drive connector to any different available SCSI port on the motherboard. This issue is generally caused due to a problem in the SCSI port on the mobo.

To stop the Beep alert, click Start button, Control Panel, Sound devices.

In the sound properties window, click on the Sound tab, then select and highlight the "Default Beep" under the Program Events section then select "NONE" from the drop down under the Sounds section then click Apply and OK.

Then, restart the Computer for the changes to take effect.

Beep sound

This problem is due to the mix of registered and unregistered DIMMs. 64Mb and 128 Mb DIMM's are unregistered memory technology 256MB is registered memory technology.
A mix of registered and unregistered memory prevents the server from completing startup, and results in an error beep sequence and a blank screen..Use registered memory and it will be fine..
