Question about Ryobi 780287001 18 Volt Flashlight Bulb 1 Pak
Is it possible to replace a 780287001 bulb used in a Ryobi Model # P704 18 Volt Flashlight with an LED upgrade? Does the 780287001 cross reference with other bulb types bases, such as some automotive bulb type bases. Then perhaps find one of the numerous LED repalcements for that? TIA, db

talked to Ryobi and they are vague. It can either mean that the battery is bad, or the charger is bad and another one that maybe the contacts of the battery are dirty or not seating fully in charger. What I would look for in this instance first unplug the charger and look into charging slot to make sure the terminals of the charger are not bent and they come out into the cavity where battery would go. If not gently pull terminal into opening and retry. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance

Yes you can, as long as the batteries are the same style and fit the older Ryobi tools. The Ah rating is a capacity rating. The higher the Ah, the longer the battery will last so the 1.7Ah will just last a bit longer than the 1.5Ah batteries, but yes you can use them on older 18v Ryobi tools. I do it all the time.

The long bolt coming down at the end shaft like place reel over bolt then turn back and forth slowly while pushing upward and it should lock in and take knob or bolt at end and tighten to the right.

When you insert a battery for charging, which light(s) combination do you see?. There should be red, green and yellow and different individual lights or combinations of lights mean different things. If only the red light goes on, chances are the batteries are to cold to charge. They will not charge below 32F so if your charger is in the garage, take the batteries in the house until they are room temp then try again. If you still have a problem and the unit or batteries are are less than 2 yrs old they should be be under warranty.

The drill sounds like it is done for. The battery may have a blown internal fuse or possibly the electronics circuit board got damaged.
