SOURCE: how can i get the dts sound field to work.

If you are playing media that has both dolby digital audio and dts audio, your player and your receiver will decode the first audio codec listed first by default unless you select it otherwise yourself. If your remote or receiver has an A.F.D. (auto format decode) button, press it until your display shows that the sound source is dolby digital or DTS, whichever sound mode it was you wanted when you started your DVD.

SOURCE: Hi, when I plug my

Maybe assign it?

If the digital TV-related audio actually originates elsewhere (Cable Box?) you could skip the TV and use the Cable Box as the audio source. Nothing is gained by flinging an audio or video signal around the room to be handled (but not improved) by any device. I have no video entering my receiver and nothing but bare bones analog audio going to my TV in case I want to just watch the news or something else lo-fi.

Denon Avr-3200 Dolby Digital not working

What I suggest is that you reset the receiver as you mentioned. If you look in your owner's, there will be a procedure that says, "Return to factory default, or Reset" I believe you have it set wrong, or are not providing it with Dolby Digial signal. Dolby Digital, is not processed by the DSP board(Digital Sound Processor), which handles the THX, Neo, and every other format. Dolby Digital, is one of the earliest form of Home Theater. It has to be processed through the 2 RCA jacks(left and right). It is really not used anymore, in light of Dolby Pro Logic, THX and others.

If auto format is not selected it will convert the same in to stereo.

How do I get the C5 Subwoofer to activate?

Hello
If subwoofer is inactive now, the sound preference settings you set now is wrong.

Before using the remote control for the following
operation
* Set the remote control mode selector to AUDIO

** There are exceptions in the operation mentioned
above. In such a case, follow each instruction

Dolby Pro Logic II*1

# Dolby Pro Logic II has a newly developed multichannel playback

format to decode all 2 channel sources - stereo source and Dolby

Surround encoded source - into a 5.1 channel.

Dolby Pro Logic II has two modes - Movie mode and Music
mode

# Pro Logic II Movie (MOVIE)
Suitable for reproduction of Dolby Surround encoded sources

# Pro Logic II Music (MUSIC)
Suitable for reproduction of any 2 channel stereo music sources

# Dolby Digital*1

Used to reproduce multichannel soundtracks of the software
encoded with Dolby Digital

# DTS Digital Surround*2

Used to reproduce multichannel soundtracks of the software

encoded with DTS Digital Surround. DTS Digital Surround (DTS) is another discrete multichannel
digital audio format available on CD and DVD software

We hooked it up and have no sound

From the Console Settings screen in the System area of the Xbox Dashboard, you can configure the video output of your Xbox 360 console for a widescreen, high-definition TV, determine your audio options, and check your console's serial number and Xbox Dashboard version.
Go to correct section for ... Audio

Change your audio output settings for games from this screen. These audio settings do not affect DVD movie playback. For DVD audio settings, refer to an individual DVD movie's setup screen.

Settings consist of:

  • Analog Output Settings: choose Mono to merge the left and right audio signals so that you can hear all sound through a connection to a monaural TV or monitor; choose Dolby Pro Logic II to listen in normal stereo (no audio surround receiver required) or to listen to Dolby Pro Logic or Dolby Pro Logic II soundtracks from compatible games or other media.

Dolby Pro Logic consists of four channels of audio: front left/center/right and a monaural surround channel that is mirrored in each of your rear left/right speakers. Dolby Pro Logic II uses digital signal processing to generate 5.0 audio (front left/center/right, rear left/right) from any stereo (left/right) programming, whether from movies, music, or games. Unlike movies and music, however, games are specially encoded with Dolby Pro Logic II decoding in mind.

To listen in either Dolby Pro Logic or Dolby Pro Logic II surround sound, you must connect your cable's left/right (white/red) RCA connectors to a compatible surround receiver. For more information, see our connection page for the cable you're using:
  • Digital Output Settings: configure this setting only if you'll be using the Toslink optical digital-audio output from a compatible Xbox 360 AV cable (optical digital-audio cable sold separately):

The default digital-audio setting is Dolby Digital 5.1. If this is your preference, you do not have to make a selection from this screen.
