Macbook Camera stopped working when abroad

Hi
The camera on my Macbook has always worked.  I have recently moved to Singapore and all of a sudden my camera does not work.  When I look into the Preferences, all it does is bring up a black screen. That is also all that people can see when contacted on Skype.
Does anybody know why this has suddenly stopped working please ?
Thanks
Dean

Unrecognized crystal eye camera

You can always download Manycam and install it. Go towww.google.com and in the search box type: "download.cnet.com"(without the quotes). Click on the link to go to the site. When thesite opens look down on the left and you will see a gray area that says FindSoftware. Type "Manycam" (without the quotes) in the whitesearch area then hit the search mirror. When it brings back your resultslook for the one that says ManyCam Virtual Webcam. Down load it andinstall it. Make sure you remove the check box on any junky programs itwould like to install. You only want to install ManyCam, no additionswhatsoever during the install. ManyCam is totally FREE and easy to use,and you will always know where your webcam software is.

Hey i have a samsung galaxy tab and my camera isnt working. . . When i first got it. . It worked fine. . Now its been a few months and my camera got really slow. Now it wont let me even open the camera. ....

Hi Erin,

I don't have the phone you're talking about, but if you no longer have enough free memory in it, the camera may not allow you to take additional pictures. You should review, move or delete old photos from the camera's memory (or if it accepts memory cards - tell it to save new photos on it instead). transfer to your computer via USB cord or send via email from the phone if needed. Free up as much memory as you can (or add memory if it accepts memory cards).

If the phone's memory is full or close to it, the phone's other functions may also benefit from some memory housekeeping / maintenance / upgrade. Don't delete any files other than the photo types (most likely ending ".jpg") or you may cause the phone to stop working correctly.

Good luck!

Hi, my macbook camera broke (built in) so i recently purchased a JC-AM800 clip on JWIN for my macbook. When i go to video chat, it still says a camera isnt connected even though i have my camera plugged...

This camera is not plug and play, meaning it won't work by just being plugged into the USB port. You need to install the drivers which you can download from the jWin website here: http://www.jwin.com/support.asp?type=6&idx=7723.
From what I can tell, the driver is an .exe file so it's only compatible with Windows.

Hi when ever i take pictures inside they always seem to be blurred unless i use the flash

Perfectly normal. Indoors there's much less light than there is under the sun. One way to compensate for this is to use the flash. This is limited in range, and will not work well if you have two (or more) subjects at different ranges.

Another way to compensate is to leave the shutter open longer to collect more light. This causes blurring if the subject is moving. It can also lead to blurring if the camera is moving, as it inevitably will if you're holding it in your hand.

Another way is to open up the aperture, letting in more light. Some exposure modes favor this, while others do the opposite. A related method is to use a faster lens, if your camera accepts interchangeable lenses. Since you didn't bother to specify the make and model of your camera, I can't tell you what modes you may have available, or any lens choices.

Another possible way to compensate is to increase the ISO sensitivity, so that the image can be made with less light. Again, without knowing what camera you have, I can't give you much details.

Uploading pics to mac from SD card in camera

Have you tried using an external card reader?

They look similar to this at Wal-Mart:

I own a mac and always use an external usb card reader to download my pics and it works great. Also, I know that you need to get your pics off first, but you may need to reformat you card at some point so that it will read faster and work quicker in your camera.

For your software issue, have you tried download the software from kodak's website? The program shouldn't cause your apple to crash. I would try re-installing it from there website.

Coolpix3200

Check by plugging it into the other USB Port, sometimes a port refresh helps, Some times if you start up your mac with the camera plugged in it only thinks it has a drive there...swap to the other drive and wait to see if it is recognised, you can also open drive utility and look for it there as a Plug in Drive... this may help as it may show up there unmounted, if so then click the Mount Button. ...C
