Just stoped printing;print cartridge problem

For hp officejet j4540 all-in-one it says print cartridge problem :[tri-color]. refer to device documentation to troubleshoot. i only printed 5 pictures

Remove print catrige and clean it with cotton cloth then refix it.

Try to clean the tab circuit of your printer and you cartridge ..maybe it cause by dirt ..and load it again to the printer...

Will it color copy- stand alone? Try making a copy on the printer by itself. If the copy is still printing in blue, then go to the service section in the menus, and clean the print head, if that does not work then try the recalibrate function. -If the copy comes out fine when you try it stand alone, try deleting the printer and reinstalling the printer.

When I print, the black ink skips or sometimes doesn't print anything. I put in a new cartridge (no improvement), manually cleaned printer head, tried to manually align printer and it says alignment...


unless you are printing and choosing black only, the printer uses the color cartridge also. Go into advanced settings and choose black only. If not you may try and replace the color cartridge, or return the cartridge, it might be defective.

I changed the printer cartridges in a hp officejet 4315 and now it won't print-flashing error meesage "Cartridge Error:refer to device documentation to trouble shoot" What do I do? i


Good Day Sir, hope this will help you.
print cartridge troubleshooting for hp officejet 4315 :

1. Remove the black print cartridge from the slot on the right. Do not touch the ink nozzles or the copper-colored contacts. check for possible damage to the copper-colored contacts or ink nozzles.
2. Reinsert the print cartridge by sliding it forward into the slot. Then push the print cartridge forward until it clicks into the socket.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the tri-color print cartridge on the left side.
4. If the problem persists, print a self-test report to determine if there is a problem with the print cartridges.
5. If the self test report shows a problem, clean the print cartridges.
6. If the problem persists, clean the copper-colored contacts of the print cartridges.
7. If you are still experiencing problems with printing, determine which print cartridge is experiencing the problem and replace it.

I'm told by the HP Officejet J4540 that the color cartiridge has a problem. It is new. I've done all I know to do. It tells me to refer to the device documentatio. Got any ideas? THANKS!! Everytime I try...

hi i dont have the tricolor cartridge in my hp 5610 and i want to work only with black cartridge and my printer says there is no cartridge on the left , is it posible to solve this problem and work with one cartridge only ? i can print but copy and fax doesnt work . thanx
