Moen 82402 tub faucet is leaking and I cannot remove plastic stem valve from copper pipe which has threads on outside for copper sleeve to go on

If you have removed wall tube and the retaining nut sleeve and any handle adapters, the cartage should just pull out. grip with vise grips and attempt to pull while wiggling and turning

Stuck pfister faucet sleeve

  1. 2_25_2013_3_58_17_pm.gif

  2. Thanks to Danny Paccho I purchased a wrench to use in removing the sleeve from Geers Plumbing

  3. Then , removed the \'87 Price Pfister faucet housing from the basin by disconnecting the 2 pipes under the basin and removing the top basin nut; inserted the wrench into the top, turning counter-clockwise until it locked (er tightened a bit) and hammered it out ,gently?, to not damage the escutcheon threads , or the basin nut.

Interior lights stay on and power windows and power mirrors will not work at all

12_12_2012_10_38_11_am.jpg

Have just disconnected battery on jeep grand cherokee 2004, 05 , the newer bonnet style. Had same diagnosis with a/c not working, electric mirrors not working and driver's window and door lock control not working. Pulled rubber sleeve off door by pulling bottom and top rubber tabs with pliers and rolled back to expose cables, see photo, then used a small connector to reconnect cable, had to take a bit of black sleeving off each cable end and twist cable as normal, then inserted into connector and did up screws tight. Covered in black insulation tape and refitted rubber sleeve to door. Reconnecting rubber sleeve was the most difficult part! Thanks for the ansers here they really helped! Saved me at least 50quid that my local garage would have charged.

Mazda 6 2006 front brake pad clicking noise

Same problem, unscrew the 2 caliper bolts, they should have a rubber boot at top and MUST have a bushing type layer - like a rubber sleeve over the front end of bolt like a 2 inch rubber sleeve that is inserted into the caliper. Without the sleeve bushing and rubber boot at the top head of bolt the caliper will make a clicking sound going over bumps as the whole caliper will make the clicking sound hitting as the pads or rotors will have play. Had all bushings, struts, shocks wheels ball joints, sway bars, control arms checked but this simple bolt going into caliper will make calipers have enough play to knock when going over bumps. never would have thought as all pads, rotors etc tight as drum but old school tech found it and solved, 06 rx8 try its cheap and easy ix.

I have an RSVP stainless steel knock box and need to replace the rubber sleeve and grommets on the bar. Where can I buy these. The shop where I purchased the box does not stock them. Thanks Al

Hi Al:

Ok, here's what the pros do.
Sleeve-- get a 1-2 foot length of reinforced rubber tubing/hose. Measure the diameter of the inner bar, get the right Inside Diameter on the tubing, cut the right length and slip over the bar-- if the fit is tight, you may need a drop of dish soap to slide it. Lasts for years, much better than the old sleeve.

Grommets. Look at an auto supply store for auto wiring grommets. http://www.autowiringsolutions.com/search.php is a good place to start. Buy a dozen of 'em, and replace them when they split :-)

2004 maxima brake caliper pin with rubber sleeve

They should both have rubber sleeves. It keeps 'gunk' out of the caliper area for the caliper bolt.
(The hole)

Is the other rubber sleeve, stuck in the caliper bolt hole where you can't see it?

My toilet is a kohler low profile. There is not a

Hacked off the old seat? You mean the closet flange that connects to the sewer pipe?
That's the part that has the bolts. They go up through the toilet base.

If you have just a straight sewer pipe now, you can connect a new closet flange to it.

1.Hardware stores sell a rubber sleeve. This sleeve fits over the cast iron, or copper, or plastic PVC pipe, and the new closet flange has a stem that fits down in the sleeve. There are two large hose clamps, that come with this rubber sleeve.

The rubber sleeve is an adapter. It adapts the 4 inch sewer pipe, down to the 3 inch stem on the closet flange. (Toilets are known as a 'Water Closet', hence the flange that the toilet bolts to, is a 'Closet Flange')

Whatever size of rubber sleeve you need to adapt two pipes together, they have it.
The new closet flange is made of PVC plastic.
(Poly Vinyl Chloride)
The flange itself is about 1/2 inch thick, and has provisions for bolts. (Use Toilet Bolts, and nuts)
Be sure the closet flange sits flush to the floor. The 1/2 inch thick rim of the flange, sits on top of the floor. The flange is then screwed to the floor with countersink head screws. The slots allow the bolts to just slip in.

IF, the flange Does Not sit level on the floor, and the area for the toilet base is not level, you need to make a flat, level surface!
Do Not half step this, or you'll have a toilet leak from now until the time you fix the floor!

Would appreciate it if you would rate my solution. If you have additional questions, state them by clicking on Additional Comments.
