Question about DeLonghi PACA120E Portable Air Conditioner
I've been using this unit for a while. Just recently, I've noticed that the carpet underneath the unit is damp. I've unplugged the unit, and have drained the water from the hose. But I still feel a dampness on the floor. Could the unit be leaking? There is no indication from the control panel that there is an internal problem.
Please assist. Thank you.

SOURCE: I bought a used K900
arianne, either the plastic tubing to the eater collect bucket is clogged or it has become disconnected.
I suspect the tubing is clogged. To resolve this, do the following:
Remove the water collection bucket and look up inside the bucket holder cavity. You will see either a drain hole or small tubing that drains the water into the bucket. Using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hole or tubing. Continue to push it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend, until it either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly pull the Zip Tie back out while rotating (twisting) it. This will breakup any clogs. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water may follow. Reinstall the bucket, plug the unit in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Allow the unit to run, while you monitor it for any leakage.
NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e.a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hangers
I hope this helps you.

Welcome to Fixya.
What cap are you referring to? Please point to the picture below.
The portable air conditioner (PAC T110P) should have a hose attached at figure #9 to facilitate the drip as you use it. The "no drip" technology does not mean that it will not produce water as you use it but rather it will be more convenient to use as it has other ways to deal with the dripping water like the "continous dripping hose" that you can attach to it. Figure #8 is also the water tank which you need to drain when full if you are not using the the dripping hose.
Figure H: water tank
Figure I: continous dripping hose.
Thank you for using Fixya. Have a great day.

On the Air-To Air Model, the majority of the moisture is supposed to exhausted out the exhaust hose and out the window. However, if it is extremely humid, the water collection tank will capture what is not exhausted. There is no hose, To drain it, there is a removable drain plug on the back of the unit, down near the floor level. You can either drain it in a low sided pan, that is capable of holding at least 1 quart of water. Or you can disconnect the unit and roll it to a floor drain (if you have one) or out doors to drain the water.
I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.
