Go to dell.com/ their support page, type in your service tag # then go to downloads and redownload the latest integrated video driver.
If you dont have a service tag you can do a generic search for your gx280 and find what you need.
good luck,
would appreciate your feedback
thanks

Frankly,

Not much you can do to improve that graphics adapter, but it can be removed and upgraded as well they only shipped with 512MB DDR 3200 RAM, I would recommend two things to improve performace. First Add at minimum a 256MB PCI-E video card. Second upgrade the RAM to at least 1GB prefferably more (4GB Max)

This will make a great difference as the video card installed from the factory only had 64MB of RAM.

Hope this helps FixYa,

Chris

It sounds like you may have forgotten to turn off the on-board video. If you insert a graphics card when you have been using the on-board graphics before, you need to go into setup ( on Dell it usually involves tapping the F2 button before Windows loads) and turn off the onboard graphics or windows may try to load 2 video drivers and fail

I want to know what type of grapjic card dell gx280 desktop uses?

You can use a graphics card, instead of the integrated graphics.
The GX280 Desktop supports a PCI Express x16 Video Card.
The Maximum memory supported, is
Small desktop computer, 4 GB
Desktop computer, 4 GB
The GX280 specifications and service manual is http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/opgx280/en/ug/index.htm
let me know how that work for you and please do not forget to rate my service so we can improve on it with your help. God bless

Dell Optiplex GX280 Video Card Install Problem

You hit that one right on the dot.  ATI website showed the specs for that graphics card you installed as needing a 300 Watt power supply.  Good news though... I researched newegg.com and I believe I found your 300W power supply.  There are 4 different Optiplex gx280 designs with 4 completely different power supplies.  Since you bought the low-profile video card, I believe you have the slim computer case and this power supply should work for you...

Upgrading graphics card onto gx280 motherboard

You need to find a "PCI Express" video card. Your Motherboard does not have an AGP slot. There are lots of them to choose from. Better to pay more now and get more memory on the video card than to regret the purchase and buy another one. IMHO

Optiplex GX280 Low Profile Graphics Failure

According to the Dell website your board has a 16X PCI express graphics slot. If so, you can ask for any PCI express graphics card at your retailer. The memory size and performance of the card will depend on your budget.
Hope you find this info helpful.

What Video Card?

http://www.3dvelocity.com/reviews/dellgx280/gx280.htm

that gives you some info about your pc, your current graphics card wont work in your pc, it would aslo depend on how much your looking to spend on a graphics card for your machine. yours takes 16x pci express.
