SOURCE: removing top of waffle maker to clean it

The other night my wife had the same issue. My thought had always been to wipe it down using a wet cloth with simply hot water and rely on the extreme heat of using it to sterilize it.  My wife decided instead to disassemble it.  The problem is that it is not made to disassemble and she bent some parts and broke others and stripped out screw heads.  It is clean now, but can not be reassembled without extracting stripped screws and replacing some parts. My advice to you is - don't try to disassemble it. The factory went to great lengths to ensure that you don't.  Instead use a soft cloth dampened (not dripping wet) with the hottest water you can.

Just spray the grids before each use with something like Pam, or put a thin coat of oil on them. I found it's better to spray before each waffle so it won't stick.

SOURCE: Will not heat.

There is a thermal fuse inside the bottom half of the unit, enclosed in a white insulating sleeve. This appears to be the weak part of the circuit. A replacement can be found here on Amazon.com.

Diagram to replace thermal fuse in wmk 300 waring pro

The most common reason for thermal fuse failure is running the iron with the top open, especially when set to a higher number (longer cycle time) and/or not flipping the iron over at the strart of a cycle.

Keep it closed except during the 10-15 seconds needed when adding the batter or removing a waffle.

Thermal fuse 240C often available on ebay 4/$2 or Amazon 10/$7-$10

When using a toastmaster waffled maker do you have to use an oil or butter pan spray?

Hi,

Normally you mix oil in with the batter, but this doesn't keep the waffles from sticking. Even non-stick waffle makers stick some. Use a light spray of Pam (or similar) on the bottom tray, add your batter than spray the top pan and close. This gives you your best shot at a perfect waffle!
Enjoy!

How to clean the stove top waffler & keep waffles from sticking?

Best wasy to keep waffles from sticking is to spray the maker with a non stick food spray like "PAM". The other way is to increase the amount of oil in the batter, but that can affect the finished look.

Waffles sticks to waffle maker. No matter if i

I notice that this was happening to my waffle maker. I had to remove a thick layer of charred and gummy varnish. This is what the corn oil spray (and maybe sugars) had turned into. No more spray for me.
Now I do not leave the waffle iron hot and empty for long; this alters the oil coating into varnish. Power off until needed for sure.
I apply a thin coating of vegetable (soybean) oil just before adding the first cup of batter. Usually I can get all I need from the cup that measured the oil for the batter! I scrub it around with a boar's hair pastry brush. (Synthetics will melt!) That's usually all I need for a batch of waffles. If they start to stick to one half or the other, I reapply some oil with the brush.

We have a new waffle iron and it was seasoned as directed but the waffles stick.

We always use a bit of that Spray on butter... You still need to lubricate it each time you lay in a waffle...

Waffles sticking to waring pro waffle maker no matter how much spray I apply. Help! thank you

I have had a bad experience with some corn oil spray. The oil (and corn syrup) built up into a crusty and sticky layer. I had to use oven cleaner to strip it back down to the non-stick surface. Now I just use soybean oil with a natural boar's hair pastry brush. (Synthetic will melt!) I heat the waffle maker at the last moment possible. Heat turns oil into varnish. I oil the surface just before the first cup of batter. I like to scrub oil with the brush into all the dry looking areas. If your batter has 1 Tbs (soybean) oil per waffle, that may be all you need for the entire batch. Turn off the heat promptly. I don't wash the oil out of the non-stick surface unless it builds up.
