Is it possible that there is more wrong with it than the capacitors, or should I keep swapping out capacitors?

  • bribild May 19, 2009

Do you know if these tvs have any safety switches that is, does the whole tv have to be put back together ie back screwed on etc..

I was just looking for common problems. It has been a few years since I worked on these things. That's good advice. I guess I'm not confident with these HDTV's. Let me know if you know any common fixes.

If the timer light is blinking slowly then the timer is on, and the set will turn on normally when the power button is pressed. otherwise it is the chassis not booting up. checkout www.tv-techs.com

After you plug in, press the reset button and wait 60 seconds. You can call Mitsubishi direct. They are very nice and when our lamp went out after about 1 year, they sent a new one free, overnight! We did have it repaired once, at about $750, that was mostly for them to come get it an bring it back. I still thought we could not get a new one for the price. Unfortunately, when you spend a lot on something, it seems to be expensive to repair as well, just like a cadillac or bmw or volvo! But then, you get what you pay for. Something great or something cheap and replacable?

Why don't you just try to replace the power circuit board? im assuming that you used a tester to test all the capacitors to make sure that they are okay... if all capacitors are okay.. try to check other components like relays and resistors.

Hi, well it is a common problem in these Tvs.most of the time it is the capacitors that are faulty but as u said u have changed all the capacitors and problem still persist then it means either u have not replced the capacitors properly or some other parts are also damaged. I would advice u to call ur service center as get it done by them. The TV will be under warranty so it wont cost u much. Thanks! Sandy

Hi what pattern is the light flashing (how many flashes?). Have you tested the power supply? Can you explain in detail more of everything that has happened, what you did, and why you did what you did so I can get a better understanding of where you are at so I can help you better. Please post back and then I will let you know what I think.

I have a mitsubishi wd-62525 the power light keeps blinking, and i can't get picture. i unpluge it than want 2min than it stop blinking and i can turn to tv on and get a picture than after 30-40mi

Good day!!!!

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..

Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..

1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter

Green blinking timer light on my WD 62525 tv

That symptom is almost always caused by bad capacitors that are known to fail through ou the five circuits boards within the chassis. Usually the DM board and The Power Board caps fail which can cause the non stop blinking timer led. You can get the V26 Chassis DM / Power repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com which has the caps with repair instructions that will often repair that issue.

Mitsubishi WD-62525 bglod fixed, but inputs are broken

look for dried out thermal paste on the transistors / i.c.'s especially on the power supply board.
test while the set is on, carefully! using coolant spray (freon) and, a hairdryer to find heat related faults keep turning the set on and, off to replicate the problem as you heat and cool components until you find the offending component. the coolant is non-conductive and, will not harm anything it touches except you. wear safety glasses and, keep your hands out of the way of the spray nozzle.
remove old non-conducting paste if a component gets too hot and, re-apply the paste.
radio shack sells the coolant spray (component cooler) and, the paste.
