Viking VUD141 Detergent Dispenser opens too late in cycle?

At the end of running any type of wash cycle, the detergent door is open, its all dribbled down the door without getting distributed into the wash. Thinking the water is not getting pulled through, I removed and cleaned the fine filter as best I could, it had a lot of lime caked on it, but that didnt change anything. I see a lot of posts about timers going bad, but considering the detergent door is opening, is it possibly opening too late in the cycle? Possibly the water pump just not pulling enough water through? Thanks all for any help.
