Ctrl + fn + right shift key twice

So hold ctrl + fn + right shift key then release the right shift key but keep holding the ctrl + fn keys down then push the right shift key again and that should deactivate it

Look for "Num Lock" key, it would be located on top left of set of number keys on right side of keyboard, press it to activate numbers keys set and press again to deactivate. Many keyboards have small light to show activation of that function.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

Monitor not working when plugged into laptop

On some laptops, you need to enable the external monitor port. Look at the number keys across the top of the keyboard. There should be some legends in blue on them. These are associated with the Function (Fn) key. One of the blue legends will most likely activate/deactivate the external monitor port. Press the Fn key along with the associated number key to activate/deactivate the monitor port.

Examine your keyboard to ensure your "Number Lock" key is not activated.

This activation is indicated by the key being lit up.

Start, click Run, and type regedit to open the Windows registry editor.

Fn key must be held down to type certain letters

This happens when the num lock key is activated.
To deactivate you have to press Fn+ another key (the key has the words num lock written on it in blue etc.)

Dell Laptop - Keyboard "Fn" is causing problems!

I think it is not the Fn key but the NumLock that is activated. Look for the key labeled NumLk , this is the number lock. Also check if the light on the notbook with a number (usually number 1) is on. If it is on, yo must deactivate the numlock by pressing it again. It works in toggle mode. Sometimes the numlock is activated together with the shift key, sometimes with the function key.
