Samsung front load electric dryer not getting hot

There is a thermal sensor type breaker leading to the heating element. They are usually round, about quarter size, with a spade connector on each end. They can be checked by a OHM meter to see if they make a connection from one terminal to the other. There may be more than one. If that checks good then you need to check the heating elements for resistance for one end to the other. If there is no resistance then the element is bad.

My Samsung dv328 dryer won't heat

There could be a number of reasons for this issue. 1) If there is lint build up in the exhaust it would reduce heating and could cause a thermostat resistor to blow (safety device for Electric and Gas models). 2) There could be a loose connection where the power cord attaches to the dryer.(Electric model) 3) There could be an electrical issue at the receptacle where the dryer is plugged in to .(Electric model) All of which could prevent the heating element from performing properly. Gas models, I would check the pilot light, check for obstructions in and around the burner, and verify all gas valves are opened, etc. I would start with a good cleaning, check the connections at the rear of the dryer and then (with the use of a voltmeter) diagnose the thermostats and resistors.

Samsung DV218AEW/XAA not heating

If the technician that came out told you he simply reset your heating element, he was not telling you the truth. Heating elements themselves cannot be reset. The element is either good, or burnt out and would need to be replaced. More common on modern dryers is that the thermal fuse on the side of the heater duct will blow out and needs to be replaced. This is usually caused due to poor air flow because of a lint blockage in the outlet duct. I would recommend calling a good, reputiable service company to repair the issue and to check the outlet duct as well. To get to the heater duct assembly, the top cover, control panel and front panel (including the door) must be removed.

Samsung DV410AGW Dryer My dryer which is brand new will not start. It appears to have an hour glass on the control panel which i have not seen before. dryer will not start even after i unplugged it...

Hi,

Sorry to take so long. I have been talking to Samsung support. the hour glass indicates that the dryer is in a cycle, but as it wont start and you've tried unplugging it, it seems there is a fault. Your dryer is new, so you need to contact Samsung for a service visit:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/request

Before doing this, try unplugging the dryer again and this time leave the power off for a few hours - assuming you haven't done this already. It might reset if you do this.

I've pasted a transcript of my conversation with Samsung below. I pretended to be the appliance owner as otherwise they would not answer my questions!

Hope this helps!

I have a samsung dryer dv328aer that stopped heating up.

Hi,

Check the home’s circuit breaker and fuses. Electric dryer use 2 household Fuses or a circuit breakers, Replace the Fuses or reset the circuit breaker.

Select a heat setting other than Air Fluff.

Clean the lint filter and exhaust duct.

Another common cause of a dryer failing to heat is a faulty element (Heating Element). You'll need to replace it.

Good Luck and have a nice day.

Rating the solution is highly appreciated.
