This amplifier is a 2 channel 50watts rms per channel and would not really be powerful enough to drive a subwoofer of any substance for car use, however , bridging it would give you 200watt rms into 4 OHMS but your subwoofer would have to be a single 4 OHM voice coil. Best you use this amplifier to drive a pair of speakers.
Hope this helps. let me know if I can further assist you

Thank you Andy, yes it is an old 4 ohm single coil 12 in speaker and if in just provides a little extra I will be happy. Thank you for replying, and Happy New year!

SOURCE: rockford amp cut out

Disconnect all speaker wires from the speaker terminals of the amp and disconnect the RCAs. Replace the 30 amp fuse with a 15 amp fuse. If you turn it on and it blows the fuse, it's likely that it has shorted output transistors. If that's the case, you need to have the amp repaired.

Get sound on radio install.

Your 2004 Vibe may have been equipped with a radio or a radio and separate amplifier. The BLU/WHT wire supplies +12 V to the radio. The radio ground wire is BRN. A GRY wire powers dial illumination. The BLK/WHT wire you mention is either the antenna input or a sensitivity control input to the amplifier. There also may have been a WHT mute control wire connected to the amplifier. The Vibe has an antenna amplifier which needs +12 v. The aftermarket radio should have separate LF, RF, LR, and RR outputs to connect to the corresponding speakers or amplifier inputs.

Can i power 2 12 subs a rockford punch z and a xplode with this amp i found all this **** in my garage and i need to know if it will power all this

First of all. Using two different kinds of sub woofers, is not an option, as these two sub woofers have different specifications and you should never mix sub woofers. Now the better choice from the 2, would probably be the Rockford. (cant be sure without knowing the models, power handling is also a factor in how well either of the sub woofers will play, but Rockford as a rule makes better sub woofers than Sony does) In my opinion, both the sub woofers deserve a better amplifier than what Boss has to offer. However to connect either of these sub woofers, you would need to determine how many voice coils it has and how many OHM the voice coil/s are. If it is a DVC (dual voice coil) and each voice coil is 4 OHM or 2 OHM, then you can connect one voice coil to one channel of the amplifier and the other voice coil to the other channel of the amplifier. If it is a DVC 2OHM you can also connect it wired in Series/Series to give a 4OHM load and should be connected to the BRIDGE dedicated speaker outputs of your amplifier. If it is a SVC (single voice coil) and it is 4 OHM, then you can connect the sub woofer to the designated speaker outputs of your amplifier that states BRIDGE. DO NOT run the amplifier in BRIDGE mode at 2 OHM as this will probably damage the amplifier. dreamsystems

I Have a Sony Xplod 800 watt amp and 2 12 inch Sony Xplod subs

You should definately bridge them. Firstly, lay the 2 speakers face down next to each other. Note the connections +- +-. The first + will go to the amplifier. The next terminal(-) will be connected to the next speaker(+). Take the last(-) and connect to amplifier. Please note that your amplifier has a bridge section which is normally the first + and the last- on the two channels. Connect your woofers on the bridge.

What you need to check is the impedance that you are connecting at. If you are using for sub woofers... you need to check how you wire them up. If you are using bridge mode then make sure that you have a 4 ohm load. This is possible with a single coil woofer which has an impedance of 4 ohm.

If you have a single dvc woofer, then you would have to either wire it up in stereo with a 4 ohm coil to each channel. If you would like to run it in brifge mode then you would have to invest in a single dual 2 ohm sub woofer and connect it with the coils in series thus obtaining a 4 ohm load.

If you have multiple woofers then it becomes more tricky. You can use a channel amp in bridge mode by getting 2 dual 4 ohm dvc woofers. You would have to connect the woofers themselves in parrallel but to the amplifier, you MUST have the woofers in series with each other. Thus getting a 4 ohm bridged load on the amplifier.

Connecting this amplifier any other way can cause it to overheat and fail.

hope this helps you

Amps on woofers are fine just won't hit

your probably making your amp run to low ohms if its a 2 channel amp bridged to one channel you can probably only run it at four ohms

Also seeing as your subs are 2ohm dvc you can't wire them individually to 2ohm and use each channel separately. So i'd recommend buying a 2ohm stable monoblock or running it at four ohms. a 1400 watt amp'll still pound at 4ohms and it'll extend your amp's life span

Ohm calculations; 4 and 8 ohm sub woofer?

+ output from amp to + input of 4 ohm to + input of 8 ohm AND - output from amp to - input of 4 ohm to - input of 8 ohm is a parallel circuit = 2.66 ohm impedance load for amp
+ output from amp to + on 4 ohm - on 4 ohm to + on 8 ohm - on 8 ohm to - of power amp is a series circuit = 12 ohm impedance load for amp. Clear as mud??

Hooking up three 12 in w3v2

It depends on how much power/watts and ohms your amp is stable at if it stable at a 1/2 ohm then you can bridge them in series and this will lower the ohms of the speakers to 2 ohms

If the woofer isn't moving significantly, try the following settings:

gain at highest (most sensitive) setting

crossover at highest frequency

subsonic filter at the lowest frequency

If those do nothing and you have a dual voice coil woofer, you may have one coil reversed. If you disconnect one voice coil and the woofer moves significantly more, check the polarity of all speaker wire connections.

Here's a brochure for the amp:

You're correct. this amp cannot be bridged to produce more power. It's minimum safe load is 4 ohms per channel. It's essentially two bridged amps in one chassis.
