Question about Brother HL-2070N Laser Printer

1 Answer

Thin paper keeps jamming

Have set thin setting. That didn't help. In the past, I think I found a setting to slow print speed, but can't find that setting now.

According to fusing (heating) at last final, thin paper is not possible to print in laser printer. it is better to use with little 70gms thick paper together using glue at feeding side only.

SOURCE: Paper jam Brother MFC-215C

Thanks, your suggestion led me to the solution, the jam not in the rollers or a senser, but it's in the dock of the printer head, when the printer head moved across, I shone a torch into the dock and saw a black thing, so eventually pulled it and realised that it was paper and it had been dyed black by the ink so that's wht it would be hard to spot!!!! Thanks again

SOURCE: printe paper jam problem for brother dcp135c

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this, is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

Steps to Troubleshoot Epson Printer Slow-to-Print Problem?

Learn to troubleshoot Epson Printer Slow-to-Print Problem as not all printers are created equal. Print speed may vary depending on system configuration, print mode and document complexity. Processing time on the computer system is not included in the print speed. The several factors where printing is slow are mentioned below:
    ·Printer driver settings

Steps to fix Epson Printer Slow-to-print issue:
    Step1: Observe the data cable
Check whether the data cable is less than 1.8 meters in length and is connected directly to computer system. Use of long cable and connecting through third party such as USB hub can cause communication and print delays.

    Step4: High Speed enabled
Check for high speed if it is enabled in the printer driver. Depending on the driver the setting may only be available on certain quality and paper selections.
    Step5: Enable High Speed
Open the printer driver from printers, printer and faxes or Devices and Printers folder and check whether the high speed is enabled in speed and progress
    Step6: Other Settings
Check for other settings as well in speed & progress for better printing speed
    Step7: Spool folder
Create new folder of spool on the hard drive and point the driver to it
    Step8: Carry a test
Print a test page form general tab of your Epson driver
    Step9: Perform
If printing is still slow try reducing the size of the data sent to printer

Kodak ESP 3250 Printer shows message "Unable to detect edge of paper" and paper just goes straight through

I've had this problem with my esp 3250 that has become progressively worse over past year. I have tried every fix available online from driver, cleaning, power, etc. My printers default quality was set to 'draft' (just to save ink) which obviously speeds up the printing and I've found that if I use 'normal' or 'best' quality, it seems to help the printer detect paper edges, I think bc it slows down physical printing process? go figure but it's gotten me around a few times when I've needed hard copies immediately. Also, changing to heavier bond paper, 92 or better helped with edge detection. I'll finish current ink and not buy another one of these:(

Canon mx850, paper jams when reloading for two sided copies. once the 1st side is printed the paper is released, recaptured and starts to feed back into the prt. 1/3 into the feed it jams, paper is...

Mel, this is what I found in the online manual:

Set the Ink Drying Wait Time longer.
Doing so gives the time enough to dry the printed surface so that paper curling and ink blots are prevented.

(1) Make sure that the machine is turned on.
(2) Open the printer properties dialog box.
See Opening the Printer Properties Dialog Box Directly from the Control Panel.
(3) Click the Maintenance tab and then Custom Settings.
(4) Drag the Ink Drying Wait Time slide bar to set the wait time, and then click Send.
(5) Confirm the message and click OK.

Make sure that the actual size of the paper is suitable for automatic duplex printing.
The sizes of media suitable for automatic duplex printing are A4, Letter, A5, B5, and 5" x 7".
Load paper of suitable size and then press the OK button.
Make sure that the Page Size or Paper size setting matches the actual size of the paper with a size suitable for automatic duplex printing.
First, check the Page Size or Paper size setting in the application software you are printing from.
Then, check the Page Size setting on the Page Setup sheet in the printer properties dialog box (Windows) or the Paper size setting on the Page Setup dialog box (Macintosh).
Note
Depending on the version of the application program, the automatic duplex printing may not be supported.
Make sure that the type of loaded paper is suitable for automatic duplex printing on the Main sheet (Windows) or the Quality & Media sheet on the Print dialog box (Macintosh).
Note
To switch to manual duplex printing, follow the procedure below.

Open the printer properties dialog box, clear the Automatic check box on the Page Setup sheet, and reprint.
When performing manual duplex printing, note the following.
If you are printing three or more pages of a document with manual duplex printing, one side of all sheets of paper will be printed first. Turn over the paper and reload the paper in the machine, and then the reverse side of all sheets of paper will be printed. Be careful not to change the order of paper in the stack.
The procedure for reversing the paper varies depending on the staple side and printing orientation. Follow the on-screen instructions.

HP 4200 printer paper jam. No paper is jammed

OK, if the printer says jam but no paper inside and prints after you open and close the cover the paper likely never made it out of the tray. Or the machine thinks the page never made it out of the machine.
As far as input check your rollers 1 in the tray and the pick up roller in the machine if you don't have alot of pages on the machine these likely OK.
Next (and this I have found often) check the paper back stop in the tray. This is the guide to set the length of paper. If it is set just a little long the roller cannot catch the edge of the paper. Sometimes the teeth the guide sets in are broken or worn.
The output would be the sensor in the fuser replace fuser.
Hope this helps

My printer wont load paper so i can print

Hiya

My Canon started doing the exact same thing. I tried several mods but no luck. Seemed like it would **** hard when starting to print thus mis-aligning the paper. What I found that did worked and solved my problem was putting the printer into 'quiet' mode. In this mode it doesn't **** the paper in as fast and thus doesn't jam. I don't think it has jammed since the change and there's no really noticeable slow down in the output.

Pull up the properties dialog for the printer and go to the maintenance tab.Select 'quiet mode' button and then set it to always use quiet mode. Worked for me. Hope it works for you!

Extremely slow copying

Cartridges may give a very slow printing if internally damaged, or :
When using colored paper in the all-in-one, printing or copying is slow. This issue is a result of the automatic paper type sensor misreading the colored paper as photo paper. The print out takes longer because the unit is printing in Best mode instead of Normal mode.
  1. Click Start , point to Settings , and then click Control Panel .
  2. Double-click Printers and Faxes .
  3. Right-click the appropriate all-in-one, and then click Printing Preferences .
  4. Click the Paper/Quality tab and under Type is: select Plain Paper . This sets the default paper type setting to Plain Paper.
Hope this helps.

Printing jammed on thicker paper

See the manual. It looks as if 120g/m2 is the heaviest paper it can use:
"Set Type to correspond to the paper loaded in the tray from
which you want to print. This will let you get the best quality
printout. If not, print quality may not be acheived as you want.
Thin: Less than 19 lb (70 g/m2) thin paper.
Thick: 24 lb to 32 lb (90~120 g/m2) thick paper.
Cotton: 20 lb to 24 lb (75~90 g/m2) cotton paper such as Gilbert
25 % and Gilbert 100 %.
Plain Paper: Normal plain paper. Select this type if your printer is
monochrome and printing on the 16 lb (60 g/m2) cotton paper.
Recycled: 20 lb to 24 lb (75~90 g/m2) recycled paper.
Color Paper: 20 lb to 24 lb (75~90 g/m2) color-backgrounded
paper."
