If the gas valve has proper voltage applied (24 volts) and no amp draw then it is bad, if it has an amp draw it may be stuck or could still be shorted internally, but voltage with nothing happening = bad device.

My furnance keeps turning off and I could go to furnance flip switch on and it only last 5 minutes then shuts off again

You may want to check the limit switch or you could have a issue with the gas valve or transformer. I would check the low voltage transformer first, Sometimes I have found that under load the transformer will open ( quit working) and will close after power is removed and it cools down, It indicates a bad internal connection.

I have a Goodman gas furnance. The furmance kicks on the glow rod lights and then the furnance shuts down after about 60 seconds it goes through the same cycle. The burners never come on. What's wrong?

Gas valve is not kicking in or gas shut offs are off. Can you check voltage where 2 wires connect to gas valve. Can you see blinking lights thru lower door window and count blinks. Code sticker should be on inside of lower door.

You could have plugged orfices in the line coming out of the gas valve. Next you could have a plugged gas regulator. The only way your going to find this out is to check gas pressure before the gas valve during a call for heat and then check it after the gas valve during a call for heat you could have a bad gas valve. Try this let me know what you find Thanks and please leave feedback

I have a Williams Ceramic Gas Wall Mounted Panel Heater, the pilot is on but the furnance is not working

Jump the two wires going to the thermostat, if it starts , you have either a bad thermostat or a broken thermostat wire. If it does not fire up, you will need to check for 24 volts AC going to the gas valve from the transformer. If you have voltage, you have a gas valve issue. If no voltage, check for a limit switch that may have overheated with an Ohm meter. If they all test good, replace the transformer.

Ignitor lights gas gas valve shuts off on furnance

thanks for your question, I am mr.grzz,
there are to reasons your furnace is doing what its doing, either a stuck pressure switch, or a bad flame sensor, replacing the pressure switch is pretty easy, its a little round flat peice with a tube sticking out of it, if you take the tube off and **** into it, you will hear a little click, try running your furnace while doing this, if it lites off, then bingo, but you have to make sure you have sucktion to the switch !
now the othe thing that I mentioned is the flame sensor, another relitive easy part to replace, its the pencil thin rod that stick up in front of the burners, when the flame ignites, it impinges on the rod which lets you gas valve stay open, if it has a little buile up on it, it might not send the correct signal back to the gas valve, taking it out, and cleaning it with emery cloth normally does the trick, try that, hope my info was helpfull, thanks again for your question, mr.grzz

Rheem gas valve for furnance

It is intentional. It's a slow close valve. There is no adjustment. You can usually replace it with an instant open/close valve.
