It depends on the actual problem. A body shop may be able to use a tool to go down thru the window sill to unlock the latch. If the latch is damaged, you may have to cut into the door to remove it.

I door can't get the front driver's door open

Roll the window down using something long with a hook on the end (slim jim) and try to unlock the door that way. If you try to take the panel off your going to damage it beyond repair. Before you do this take wd 40 and soak down the door latch, wait awhile 1/2 hr or so then try to unlock. Good luck

1996 lincoln continental door latch does not lock/unlock door from inside or outide...door stays open basically...door latch has no response, unlock/lock switch works

I have the same problem.(Door will not stay closed) The door latch itself seems worn to the point where the linkage from both the actuator or door handle causes the latch to get stuck. I can free it with a screw driver applied where linkage connects to the latch, but it will stick again. Dealer wants over 300 with actuator. I am looking in junk yard for part. Remove door panel, somehow disconnect linkage from latch. It makes more sense to remove 3 hex or star screws 1st (27mm) so latch will be more accessible. My problem is the door latch, not anything else. Good luck

How to unlock a child proof lock for a Toyota Camry?

open the door (from the outside)
keep the door open, sit down on your heels and look at the inside of the door next to the latch, (the bit you never see with the door closed) you will see a little "tag" sticking out, probably with <LOCK/UNLOCK> printed next to it, this is the child-lock.

please leave feedback good or bad

Drivers Door will not unlock. Inside or outside or with the key

Pull the inside panel off ,and look at the latch itself, that latches the door, and look for the lever that locks the latch,it will be sticking out of the latch, and try and release the lock by moving the lever.

Passenger sliding door doesn´t unlock (Power locks). When pulling the handle either inside or outside with doors unlocked it won´t open.

Sound like you have a dammaged door latch assembly. It is a pain but you have to take the insid door trim panal off to see what you are doing and make sure the latch assy is un locking. Dis connect power door lock motor linkage to make sure motot is not jaming the lock in the lock possition.

Here's what F9 code means:
1. Door lock safety circuit on ERC sensed Replace the door latch assembly
2. Door Lock Warning Check door lock circuit or Replace Clock
Try pressing and holding the door latch to unlock position and then press cancel for a few seconds. The latch should return to its original position.
