Question about Altec Lansing iMT520 inMotion Classic Po
Everytime I use my Vizio TV remote, it turns my dock on and off. I'm not pointing the remote at the dock. I never had this issue with my other TV and remote. This only started happening since I got my Vizio TV about a week ago.
Your Altec Lansing dock probably responds to some of the same remote codes as your Vizio TV. Your other TV probably used different codes.

Best bet would be to just strip the wire with a wire stripper or utility knife and twist the bare ends together to fix the connection. A little electrical tape around those wires and you should be almost good as new. Of course you might notice some difference in quality but I'm pretty sure the only way round that would be replacing the cable.
Try it out and let me know how it works out for you. If you know how to solder it might be a good idea to solder the connection as well.

I did the same! Thanks for suggesting a call to Customer Support (800)258+3288. The guy didn't seem overly pleased to help, but he did promise to send me a new power supply. Also, he said that they don't make the iM7 anymore, but I had already found out that the iM9 uses the same power supply. I, too, will wait and see.

just sone it, i had to break a whole in the bottom part , work my way around it with a screwdriver , it will snap every 2-3 cm and come off in the end.
after its off start at the (now exposed) bottom of the front bit and work your way up and aroud `till it comes off. mind the wires . as for the volume button fix , as soon as i played with it and tried it again , everything was good. even though replacing it doesn`t seem like a big deal
put it back together and will superglue it in the future( while typing this i doubt if it will ever happen), and it lookes good( except from the bottom ,where its broken !).
now the button is solid and the sound as well.
