HE EMAILED ME THE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM AND PART NUMBER. IT WAS THE MAIN BOARD. I ORDERED THE PART AT VIZPARTS.COM FOR ABOUT 180.00. INSTALLED IT MYSELF AND THE TV WORKS FINE. I WISH IT HAD BEEN UNDER WARRANTY BUT IT WAS 18 MONTHS OLD AND THE WARRANTY WAS FOR 12 MONTHS.

SOURCE: Sound but no picture Philips 42PFL9632D/79

I had the same problem, no picture, contacted Philips who put me on to NESN (0845 610 4105) for local agent, they diognosed a falty "Inverter Board" all costs will be £365as the set is only 18 months old Philips are looking into some compensation towards the costs. I await there reply. Looking at several web sites worldwide this seems to be a problem with this set between 12 & 24 months old.

I have Philips TV 47pfl3603d/f7 Remote will not turn or off.

Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It has details about how to check a remote control; by one among the post. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ If the remote control is found OK; check and replace the infra-red sensor inside the TV. Contact any service technician.

Philips remote control not working

have the remote tested, any repair shop can do this and usually for free.

If remote is good the receiver in the set is likely bad.

Need to find out a part # for my philips 52PFL7403/f7 for the ir sensor

Join Date: Nov 2011 I have a Philips 47PFL3603D/F7 with the same problem. It was the IR sensor board causing the problem. You can search online to find the board, which almost everyone will most likely not have in stock, and cant be ordered. The part you need is this: 313926859181 IR Remote Sensor.

Models it will fit are as follows: Substitute Parts 313926859182

MAGNAVOX 42MF438B/27

If you can find the board, great! A replacement board costs about $12.00. If you can't... we'll there is something you can try ; )

Either way, if you know it's the board, what's the harm in trying?

Remove the back from the TV. You can actually leave it on your stand to do this if you can spin it around to gain access to the back of it. Be sure to unplug everything first!!!

Looking at the back of the tv, the board will be located in the lower left side by the speaker. It will have 2 cables attached to it. Remove them, and take out the screw or two that holds it in place. There will be a plastic tab that keeps it in place also.

Take your fingernail and bend the tab back, and the board should come free. After that you should be holding the board in your hands. The side of the board with the connectors on it is the side you want to manipulate. There will be a tiny surface mounted capacitor beside one of the wire connection sockets. Take a utility knife and scrape it off/ you could use a soldering iron but it should come off very easy with a knife.

Plug it back in, and give it a try! If it works... great! If not, find a replacement board, and try that.

Hope it helps someone!!!! quote.gif

How can i connect my television to my surround sound reciever? Where do i plug in? there are so many outlets and i have no manual for my set. chivasmobile@live.com.mx P.s. is there a way to purchase...

The TV is NOT a major player in audio.

Follow the directions for your receiver. What did you say the model was? IT (probably) needs a video connection so you can manage it through the TV. After that, what does it or the TV really need from each other?

Try the manufacturer, retrevo.com or http://audio.manualsonline.com for free manual(s). Just register and download at the last two.

Hi there,

You need to select the source of your home theater system. Press <SOURCE> on the home theater remote to switch between DVD, TUNER, and LINE modes. Select LINE, then you should now hear audio from your TV, Please make sure that your TV is not muted, just increase the volume until you hear audio on home theater. Also increase the volume of your home theater.

Remote didnt come with the tv

sometimes the remote is taped in the foam and can be hard to see , but yes they forget them too!
this is the manual area that describes the functions of the tv and you do need the remote to set the tv channels unless using a box http://www.fixya.com/support/p920470-philips_47pfl3603d_lcd_tv/manual-26921/page-8
you should call them and see about them sending you one.
but if you want help in locating one online ,I will help

I have a new TV Model 47PFL3603D/F7 and am hooked up to comcast digital box and cannot figure out how to get my comcast remote to regulate the volume. I have the set on channel 3 and everything works...

Usually on a universal remote (after programmed) the volume is controlled by pressing the cable button then adjusting the volume. When you turn your tv on by pressing tv power---then flipping through the channels by pressing cable--channel up or down. The remote (in my experience usually only controls the volume while in the cable mode)
