No power but have 12.8 volts to the radio. It powers up when I hook it direct

I have a new system in my boat. It was working fine and then stopped coming on. I have checked the wires all is good. I am getting 12.8 volts but when I plug it in nothing. I took it out and hooked it direct to my jeep batt and in worked. Any thoughts?

Make sure the amplifier setting "disable" is off then turn off remote power and turn back on.

You need to check the Fuse on the Power Wire and check the ground wire to see if has loosened up. Also check Power Wire as well.

Hope you see what you are your looking for! Good Luck!

SOURCE: can't get my amplifier to work.

My homie had the same problem with his escalade they adapted an rca line adapter from the factory wiring to geta signal to his amplifier and it just wasnt hitting like it should so we installed a new deck and plugged the rca cords right into it and boomboom pow it was hittin like a champ-we figured that the stock premium system that was incoprporated into the truck had some sort of an onboard amp that was filtering the bass from the door speakers and which was limiting the bass output to the rca adapter and thus on down the line to the amplifier- so maybe ya might want to look into getting an aftermarket deck and see if that helps your cause-good luck

SOURCE: Amplifier wont move subs

I dont know if this will help you but start at the deck and make sure that the outputs(RCA) arent crossed over to highpass and do the same at the amp make sure that its set for lowpass- set half gain -bass boost half gain- subsonic minimum - If that doesnt help try using an i pod with an adaptor that you can play it right into the amp this is to see if you are getting signal from the deck to the amp if it doesnt work with an i pod or mp3 plugged directly into it then you may have got you a blown amp going on- good luck with that

When running multiple amps you need a relay most of the time for the remote wire off the radio this is because the radio was built to power one not multiples. one 12 volt relay may help .check local car audio store. also when hooking up relay it has to have a 12 volt power wire connected to it usually the center pin on the relay is your connection for the power wire the you connect your remote wire from the radio to the relay then connect each amp independently to the relay. Hope this helps write back if not . and if so leave feedback

No. you can put in extra batteries and use it, but you must remove you charging system from them to use it that way. Not really practical.

My radio stopped working after hooking up the amplifier

Did you double check your work? Did you check the resistance of the fuses? Just because the fuse appears to be good, it can still be blown. Do you have access to a multimeter? You need to check and see if the head unit is receiving 12 Volts continuous which you put the multimeter probes to the black wire and the yellow wire. Then connect the probes to the black wire and the red wire. This wire should only have power when the car is cut on. If you are not getting 12 volts to these points, the problem is your wiring system somewhere...probably a fuse. If you are getting 12 volts, your head unit is garbage. I want to say it is the fuse.

If a boat is anything like a car, the amp's negative post should not be connected to the battery, but to the ground of the boat. In a car, the entire chassis is grounded to the negative terminal, so when you run a line from the positive terminal of the battery to the positive post on the amp, and a line from the negative post on the amp to the chassis it is a complete circuit. I highly recommend placing a fuse on the positive line from the battery to the amp. Wiring this way prevents the amp from blowing up your battery, as well as prevents the battery from blowing your amp. Hope it works.

Clarion M5675 won't turn on

Take the stereo all the way out and hook the black wire to the negative terminal and the yellow and the red wire to the positive terminal on a charged car battey. If it still does not turn on you may have fuse in the back of the deck. If not it's probably fried.

Only door speakers have sound on the cd mode

the amp requires a 12 volt power constant, and a 12 volt "on" signal. you prolly have the 12 v "on" hooked up to the car stereo's antennae remote, meaning your amp gets power when the radio is on, cuase the radio is sending a signal to the amp (thinking that it is sending a signal to the antennae to raise)

you do have one of those collapsable antennas, right?

Theirs no reason why you cannot plug in the 110 adapter to the 110 wall plug to power the radio.
You may also want to add a surge protector inline.

Power supply to Sirius Radio

yes, some sirius radios work on 5 volts, and some work on 12 volts. Your sportster replay is a 5 volt unit. If you trace that wire back, you will find a cigarette lighter plug with a transformer built into it, with either wires soldered to the terminals, or a female cig plug wired up behind the dash. Whatever sirius unit you plan on hooking up, I strongly reccommend using the transformer that it came with......however if you're willing to take a chance, it's most likely 5 volts.

You can But I would not connect it directly unless I had a regulator or isolation device between the set and the boats power. if your boat has 110 volt capability just be safe and use the adaptor.
