Furnace mounted humidifier when set thermostat to operate automatically it kicks the solenoid on but when the furnace shuts off the solenoid stays on When I turn it off at the thermostat it shuts off

Without knowing the exact humidifier and how it's wired one can only guess.

There are many different ways to wire a humidifier, one method involves the use of a current sensing relay monitoring the operation of the furnace fan motor. Another uses the HUM terminals on the furnace to control the humidifier.

Has the humidifier ever worked properly? If so, a component has failed. If not, it wired incorrectly and you need to refer back to your installation manual.

Furnace will not run when hooked up to electricity

Go to your thermostat and access the fan mode. Change the fan mode to Automatic, AU. This will stop the AC fan from blowing when the furnace is turned on. If the fan mode is on Hi or Lo and the furnace is turned on it will turn on the AC blower. Bad design...

Arcoaire furnace ran out of propane and now wont ignite

Check along the gas supply line to the furnace and make sure there isn't a valve that is shut off. If you have a gas oven see if the ranges light and have gas. I'm assuming you've also turned on the gas supply at the furnace itself as well. Check that the furnace has electricity it won't be able to open the automatic valve let alone fire the igniter. My brand new furnace had a safety switch that went out 3 days after installation preventing it from lighting. You might contact Arcoaire about that. http://www.arcoaire.com/

Air conditioner won't stay off

Go to the thermostat and access the fan mode. Change the mode to AU (automatic) then turn the furnace on and it should work normally. If the fan mode is in Hi or Lo the Ac fan will blow.

I have a carrier 58RAV050-12 and my furnace won't turn on. It was working earlier today but it just stopped. Any suggestions as to why?

Check the pilot lt. If its out shutdown your furnace and call a repairman. If the pilot light is on, the flame sensor might have gone out. It's a long silver sensor that sits in the pilot light flame and senses when the flame is present. If it isn't working the furnace will automatically shut down.

Turn the Coleman furnace system switch to the "Off" position on the electric service panel.

  • Locate the manual reset switch near the left side of your furnace blower. Your Coleman furnace has an upper limit switch for manual reset and a lower limit switch for automatic reset.

  • Press the reset button, which you will find in the middle of the limit switch. Use this manual reset button when the furnace burner will not operate. (See Reference 1 pg 4 "The Furnace Controls and their Function/Important" & Reference 4 # 3)

  • Turn the system switch to the "On" position.

  • Good Luck

Install automatic ignition system for a coleman furnace

For sure turn off the power at the breaker!! Now as far as the new board, usually the new board will be a new modified replacement, the wiring will be different from the original. It is very important to follow the installation instruction that come with the new board, if you go step by step, it will be ok. Just don't be surprised when you find that the new one is not exact. It is all in the name of improvement, follow the install manuals, step by step. As a 30 year Heating and cooling tech, it was very worrisome when they started doing this, but as long as you have a board that matches the brand and model of your furnace, it will be ok.
    Good Luck,

Will not turn on when set to automatic. when switched to on position no hot air comes out of vent.

If you are talking about the switch on your thermostat, "On" and "Automatic" refer to the fan. In the "Auto" setting, the fan only runs when the furnace is running, in "on" setting, it runs the fan constantly. Your furnace is not firing for some other reason, the on/Auto switch is working properly.
