Question about Mitsubishi "WD-82840 DLP 3D HDTV"

Open Question

Wd-82840 random color flicker/shift

Picture looks perfect, then a slight flicker and everything gets a purple hue and the color gradients in the picture look strange. May go for 10-20 minutes with no issue, or may do it every few seconds. Duration of flicker is usually just a second or two, but can last longer. I've tried carefully wiggling various connections with the rear cover off to see if it was just a cable issue, but can't seem to make it better or worse. TV is about a year old, but probably has less than 200 hours operating time.

those are going to be dust spots on the LCD panels internal to the optical engine. i suggest that you take the screen off and take off the panel i nthe middle of the tv with 2 screws in it and there will be an area that has 3 metal fins covering thin orange ribbon cables. the 3 square objects at the end of those ribbon cables will be the LCD panels spray wiht air compressor unitl clean and that should greatly help your problem.

Sony KP-53HS30 Projection TV has pink and blue hue w/timer blink

Depending on your TV, you may have a Color Temperature (Color Temp) and/or Hue setting in the menu. Use these options to adjust the picture to the setting that best suits your viewing preference.
If your TV has a Color Temp setting, you will normally have the following options to select from:
  • Cool: Gives the picture a cooler, slightly bluish appearance.
  • Neutral: Gives the picture a neutral, more natural look and appearance.
  • Warm: Gives the picture a warmer, slightly reddish appearance.
If your TV has a Hue setting, follow the appropriate step below to make adjustments:
  1. Move the setting to the right to reduce the reddish appearance.
  2. Move the setting to the left to reduce the greenish appearance.

Faded colors

If the picture is dark or messed up too bad, the magic focus will not function, are all the primary colors faded? RED GREEN BLUE? You might have a bad CRT, would call a service man to check out.

Chuck the TV - probably It depends on the repair facilities available where you live. In big urban areas the cost of staffing a repair shop is such it can cost nearly as much per hour just to look at an item is it does to buy the next one-plus you get all the latest features.

So your sure when you go into the monitor settings, and color, it is set to like 9300k or something? It probably isn't the monitor, because the video games you said display just fine.
