For future reference, provide a MODEL number and whether or not its a FRONT loading washer, or TOP loading washer. It makes a difference in being able to diagnose a problem. If this is a top loader, this is a common problem with Whirlpool model washers, but shouldn't be a serious issue, if it's what I think it is. A washer that fills and doesn't do anything, or stops right after the wash cycle and then does not advance to the rinse cycle and drain is commonly caused by a lid switch malfunction. The lid switch is usually mounted under the washer top casing, on the right hand side on most top load models. It is activated by a plastic piece on the lid (called a "Lid Strike") through a small hole on the rim of the wash tub opening. In many cases the lid strike breaks off the lid, or the lid switch becomes loose and no longer makes contact. Inspect the lid to make sure the lid strike is still intact, and then inspect the mounting screws (adjacent to the small opening on the wash tub rim) and make sure they are snug. If you determine the switch to be defective, the following link explains how to replace one:

If the switch requires replacement, a new one can be purchased on line at searspartsdirect.com, pcappliancerepair.com, repairclinic.com, appliancepartspros.com. Just use your model number as your search criteria. All these sites offer competitive pricing, so shop all them for the best price. If you still need assistance, please contact me and let me know. If my diagnosis is not correct, please post back and elaborate a bit more so I can assist you further. If your washer is not configured this way, or if you still have questions, please let me know.

Rinse cycle doesnt work

Because the water from the wash is still inside it and has not drained. So you need a new drain pump!

Washer won't go into spin cycle, stops after final rinse. When I try drain &rinse it still will not spin.

If the unit does not spin correctly, this is usually an indication that the unit can also not drain. The unit will not spin if it senses a blockage or issue with the drain lines and/or pump. Try to check the drain lines in the back of the unit for any issue, and then see if you have an access panel to get to the coin trap or drain pump itself. Often socks and debris will clog up in this area and cause your problems.

I have a whirlpool washing machine fully automatic. Foe the past two days water was not pouring in the machine. Seems to be the failture of the solenoid valve.Further, when water poured inside manually,...

the drain pump may be blocked, machine wont fill if there is still some water in the system if it hasnt emptied properly. Remove the filter usualy under the panel at the front, and check for blockage and veryfy pump is running.

Kenmore model 110 23832100 stps after wash cycle before the rinse cyle. The old water has not drained.

If the machine fills, and washes and won't drain or spin out the water you need a direct drive coupling. It is located at the bottom and is on the motor shaft and consits of 3 pieces. Check this first, easy fix and not expensive.
