My daughter's DS has the same problem with the game not staying in. Can you tell me how you fixed the slot lock? I took the console apart but didn't see a way to open up the box that the game slides into.

When games are inserted into console they will not play

If you are inserting a DS card, be sure there are no foreign articles inside the slot. Blow into the DS card slot to clear any debris. Also be sure you are inserting the card all the way in until it clicks. I've also found that if you're powering on a game, and you bump, grasp or touch the ds card as the DS is powering on, that can cause it to not read games.

Check the actual DS card itself and carefully look at the exposed contacts on the circuit board. Be sure none of them are scratched, damaged or otherwise. A scratch can damage a contact, thus preventing proper data read.

If anything was spilled onto the DS card, be sure it is thoroughly cleaned with a damp cloth (no cleeaning chemicals!) If you immerse the DS card, or pour liquids on it, that may damage it as well.

Same points hold true for inserting a Gameboy Advance game (if you have a DS or a DS Lite. The DSi and DSiXL do not have Gameboy Advance slots.

If you turn on the DS and nothing happens, try a different DS Card. If it only happens with that one particular game (or games) your DS cards are damaged or need cleaning. If all your games are not playing, there is a problem with your DS. Try your games in a friend's DS just to make sure. You'll probably have to send the unit to Nintendo for repair, or take it to an authorized repair center.

My ds chip will not stay in the card it was working ok previously

If by DS chip you mean the DS game, and if by card you mean the slot where you put DS games, then I'm thinking that the device that keeps the game inside may have been damaged/broken. How to repair this I do not know, if it is even possible. Unfortunately, according to the DS Lite I have sitting here, the only way I can see to even touch this problem warrants the removal of the game slot itself, or replacing the entire main board. (Don't mind the Italics, I just hit the shortcut key and don't know what key that is).

Nintendo DS start up menu disappeared.

take out all of the games in the ds then the menu should come up then click the little ds picture at the bottom. that will take you to another menu. click on the wrench in the pink box, then click the top box which has an arrow pointing into a box. click the top box which says manual mode then press confirm. the ds will go off then when you turn it on it should go to the menu even with a game in. hope this helps! =)

Game is stuck in console!

You will simply have to apply more pressure when trying to push it out. There is no other way to remove it. Make sure the outside and inside of the game is clean once you get it out. Dirt, or other gritty substances bind it up. You will also want to blow out the game slot on the DS. Use canned air and keep the can upright.

Game won't go into DS Lite

Do other games work (click) correctly?

Is there something wrong with the game cartridge? Like is the case bent or broken?
