If the roller is not turning you need to replace the belt. They normally supply a spare when you buy it

SOURCE: I have a Dyson DC07i

Most likely the ratchet mechanism on the switch is faulty.

Switches are available if you search oneBayfor a few pounds, and if you've reasonable DIY skills and tools, it's fairly easy to do.

Have a look athttp://www.dysonmedic.com/DC07%20Folder/DC07%20Motor%20change.htmlwhich has some great info on your machine.

SOURCE: how do i change the fan belt on a dyson dc07i

DC07s have two drivebelts that turn the brush bar - one connects the output of the motor to the clutch, the other connects the clutch to the brush bar.
You can check the latter simply by removing the sole plate and looking. Unfortunately the other belt is hidden under a plastic cover, so you cant see if it is okay or not without some dismantling. This cover is not easy to remove and requires a Torx driver to under the securing screws.
If, after removing the cover, the other belt is okay, then you have a faulty clutch. New clutches are available on eBay reasonably cheaply, but again good tools and DIY skills are required.
Have a look atwww.dysonmedic.com which has some excellent info on dismantling and repairing a DC 07.

My dc07i has power to hose but isn't picking up when hovering carpets or hard floors the roller is going round but there is no suction

I would guess that the line is plugged between the pick-up where it goes to the dirt tank. Lots of time when something big gets sucked in, it still lets the dirt in the tank. However over time dirt collects around the wedged object and gradually over time plugs the passage way. It may take a little time to pick out the blockage. You may have to somewhat take it apart. to get at it. This happens to my shop vac a lot.

The holes on my dyson dc07i are dirty and smell how can i get them clean does the part with root cyclone on it come apart

Hi Susan,

We'd strongly advise against attempting to disassemble the cyclone pack, as this is likely to snap the internal bin-base release rod, and can also reduce the performance of your machine.

If you're concerned about the smell from your machine, I'd encourage you to get in touch with us directly, by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US). One of our advisors will be happy to run through some troubleshooting checks to make sure the smell is coming from the cyclone pack. They'll also be able to offer advice on the best way to resolve this issue without damaging your machine.

We'll look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes,

Jack

How do you get the tools to work on a dyson DC07i. I am sure it is easy, but I have been given the vacuum and have no manual. thanks

The tools simply fit on the end of the wand or if you wish you can take the wand off, slide the hose down completley to the bottom of the wand, press the wee button atthe end of the hose and this will take the wand off the hose. The tools can then fit onto the hose part
