Where do I find replacement screws for a Pfaff 130

I lost one of the screws that holds on the hook assembly on my Pfaff 130. I have no idea where to begin to look for one. Does it need both screws or will one suffice til I can locate the other?

A local sewing machine center will have your screw if not exactly they will have a similar size and pitch of the screw threads. 99% they will have something similar even though it's not the same brand.

Because of the high precision of your Pfaff, there is is no such thing as 'close enough' or 'similar pitch'. Every model group had very specific parts. You may have to go to ebay to purchase another one for parts...especially if your timing belt breaks at some time in the future. You will also find some nice folks who do wonderful work with these machines.

I have a pfaff 2030/2040 tiptronic. I have had the timing repaired 3times. Will this be a continuing problem. Is it time to replace my machine?

Take it to a different technician. If it is irreparable a good tech will tell you. It is most likely the timing belt tension or a loose screw (or two) on the hook. Once set properly and secured it should hold. If you are attempting to sew too thick of a seam it could jar the needlebar out of position as well.

How do you adjust timing on pfaff 138 sewing machine

Take the foot off the machine
Remove the needle plate
Remove the feed dogs
rotate by hand until the needle is at the lowest position
continue rotating until the needle rises 2 mm
the hook assembly should be passing exactly by the scarf of the needle
if not loosen the two screws that secure the the hook assembly and rotate the hook assembly by hand until it is exactly at the scarf of the needle and the distance between the hook and the scarf is .1 mm (almost touching the needle)
tightened the two screws, replace the feed dogs and foot and it should sew perfectly

Bobbin winder won't spin

The two most common problems are that you either need a new bobbin tire, or just need to adjust the position of the winder a little closer to the hand wheel. Remove the top cover and you will see the winder assembly. Loosen the two screws that hold the assembly nudge it closer to the hand wheel side. If you move it too far the winder will constantly spin. Also, examine the rubber tire, it may have a flat spot on it in which case it needs to be replaced. If it is worn out you may not be able to tell just by looking at it.
These winders can be tricky to adjust but why not try?
Good luck!
