How to set time?

Normally in all phones as it is switched ON the time needs to be set before the main menu comes up. So as soon as the time window comes up you can set the time, time zone and proceed.
Also you can access time setting from the MENU>settings> clock/time/date set. Open the window and proceed.

My samsung Captivate is freezing and I want to know how to unfreeze it without taking out the battery

Sometimes turning the screen on and off then pressing home will help. To prevent it from freezing try looking at the programs that are running (Menu--> Settings-->Applications-->Running Services) The less apps running the more stable the phone will be. You can also uninstall unused apps.

My screen goes red, and doesn't go back to normal colors again, when I try to enter the menu, nothing happens, and the buttons don't work.

To make sure that the monitor is ok, do you by any chance have an option to connect it to some other monitor? Or even your tv ...it should have a VGA in the back. It can be that your video failed on the motherboard of your computer. Let me know then we can proceed with the other step

2 year old Samsung 50" DLP

Sounds like a bad digital board to me. Not too hard to replace in those models but, you do have to write down a few settings before replacing it. These settings are available in the service menu. Any questions let me know [email protected]
