Question about Dell OptiPlex GX260 Intel Desktop PC - Intel Pentium 4 2GHz, 256MB DDR, 40GB HDD, CD-ROM, Windows XP
I plug in my Dell PC and the monitor says that it is in power save mode and to activate it with the pc and i put in a new battery and it still doesn't work, and i need help.
When you first plug it in and turn it on, the monitor will shut itself down with only this little note until it receives a signal from the computer to do something else.
You will have to double check the computer as well, and ensure that it too, is turned on. If this is the case, then your next step is to ensure that the monitor and the computer are talking with each other, that is, you'll have to unplug the monitor from the computer and plug it back in again.
If you do all these things, and you still have this message, then something may be wrong with your video card. At that point, you may have to consider taking it to a professional.
