Toshiba M45 Satellite Won't Start

When I turn on my laptop, it loads up the toshiba sign part then goes to a black screen with just "_" blinking at the top left corner. I left it like that for almost an hour and it just stayed like that or sometimes it will freeze. I also can't get into the advanced option, but I can get into BIOS which doesnt really help. Help me please!

Thanks

Have you tried going into safe mode?

Turn on the laptop and press F8 a bunch. If you get to the menu then choose safe mode and see if it goes in there.

This is a motherboard problem. Windows will not install even in a new hard drive. Linux gOS should work. Install it in a new hard drive and retrieve your old files from the original hard drive. CD/DVD will be detected but you can't watch DVD or listen to CD. USB won't work either. The only thing that works is your wireless internet.

Toshiba satellite m45-s169 will not boot windows

Windows is corrupted or the hard drive has issues, if you have a cd installation disc try a fresh install, if no change! the hardware needs to be checked for possible replacement.

When I try to boot my laptop Toshiba Satellite M45 the screen just shows Toshiba for a few seconds and then it goes black.

If it does it when AC power is connected then you need to have it serviced.
If it only does it when on battery replace the battery.

Good luck!

My toshiba M45 takes several times to turn on,

what is your operating system? if you're familiar of what you're using, then it might be a hardware issue, please be specific,
if you're using windows, try running your OS to safe mode by turning it on and pressing F8 after bios load, it might be your Operating System is corrupted...

Toshiba M45-S331, Black screen

I just went through all this myself. First I had the inverter replaced ($200) and it worked great for a week, then the screen went out again. It turned out that the LCD needed replaced ($200 more, labor comped from the first no-fix). There's a problem with the Toshiba LCDs that makes them burn out sooner than other brands. Since the replaced screen, no problems (2 months). Sucks, I know.
