Question about IBM ThinkPad T40 2373 Notebook
Remove the battery. Check for voltage at the connector of the AC adapter. Plug adapter
into the lap top and turn on. If it runs, yes, a new battery is needed.
When power up is attempted, does it make any sounds, can you hear the fan running or do any of the indicators light up? If so, you are getting power to the laptop. If not, you probably have an internal power supply problem.
