SOURCE: red water light is flashing
I read through many old posts and found the answer I was looking for. I turned the hot water nozzle on for 45 seconds and the problem went away.

I posted earlier with a similar question, I fixed it by doing this. First unplug the unit for at least 30 seconds to clear. Second, and you'll have to be quick, press the Program, Set and On buttons all at the same time. This should set back to default settings. Hope this helps.

When you press the coffee button , and the top and bottom lights are flashing, that means the grinder is either jammed or out of order. If the machine is less than 2 years old, the service center will replaced it under warranty.

Suggest you try to re-seat the filter in the water container and make sure the water container is seated firmly. I had the same reaction until I did the above.

Perhaps more than one problem people are dealing with but here's what I found. The round float in the tank is magnetic so it's either activating some crappy mechanical switch or more likely a hall effect sensor. Remove the tank and dump the water so the float will rise from the bottom when you refill it. Take a good strong magnet and slide it around the side of the unit where the float would be, tapping it as you go. Put the tank back on and fill it. One try and I was back to making coffee.
