This is the coil for an older magneto-based Kieckhaefer distrubutor, right?
Not avaiable anymore through Mercury themselves, but there are some new old stock parts available on e-bay...

  6. Position the ignition coil assembly to the engine. Install the mounting bolts, then tighten to 15-22 ft. lbs. (20-30 Nm).
  7. Connect the spark plug wires to the proper coils, as tagged during removal.
  8. Attach the coil electrical connectors.
  9. Carefully lower the vehicle, then connect the negative battery cable.
2.0L (VIN 1 and H), 2.8L (VIN W) and 3.1L (VIN T) Engines NOTE: On 3.1L engines, an "Idle Learn" procedure must be performed which requires the use of a scan tool. You may wish to have the coil(s) replaced at a proper service facility.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Detach the electrical wires from the ignition coil assembly.
  3. Tag and disconnect the spark plug wires from the assembly.
  4. Unfasten the mounting bolts, then remove the assembly from the engine. NOTE: On the 2.8L and 3.1L engines, with the coil pack removed, each coil can be removed and the ignition module can be removed as well. Fig. 2: On the 2.0L engine, if any part of the ignition coil is faulty, the entire coil assembly must be replaced 87952013.gif
Fig. 3: When the DIS of Ignition Coil assembly is removed, you can remove each individual coil for replacement - 2.8L and 3.1L engines 87952012.gif

How do you replace the spark plugs on a 1998 2.7 Intrepid?

Hi,
REMOVAL
Always remove the ignition coil assembly by grasping at the spark plug boot, turning the assembly 1/2 turn and pulling straight back in a steady motion.
  • Prior to removing the spark plug, spray compressed air around the coil area and spark plug.
  • Remove electrical connector from ignition coil.
On 3.5L engines, it is necessary to loosen the screws by alternating back and forth. Do not lose the spacers under the coil when loosening the screws.
  • Remove 2 fasteners from ignition coil.
  • Remove ignition coil assembly.
  • Remove the spark plug using a quality socket with a rubber or foam insert.
  • Inspect the spark plug condition.
INSTALLATION
Always remove the ignition coil assembly by grasping at the spark plug boot, turning the assembly 1/2 turn and pulling straight back in a steady motion.
  • To avoid cross threading, start the spark plug into the cylinder head by hand.
  • 3.5L engines tighten spark plugs to 28 N·m (20 ft. lbs.) torque, 2.7L engine tighten spark plugs to 17.6 N·m (13 ft. lbs.).
  • Install ignition coil assembly onto spark plug.
  • Install coil screws and tighten: 2.7L engine to 6.2 N·m (55 in. lbs.), 3.5L engines to 6.7 N·m (60 in. lbs.).
  • Connect the electrical connector.

Armature must be replaced part # 100933-03

I think I retraced your steps Bernie. All parts you provide are NLA at Remington and Master Distributors. I did not try an Internet search for "Remington YourPartNumber", I am quite certain it would be fruitless. I came up with a couple of different numbers that were also NLA.
http://shoppingcart.msservicecompany.com/Default.aspx
An IPL for your saw can be found by a search for "107625", one of the IPLs include your part number.
http://www.masterparts.net/remingtonelectricchainsaw.html

Did you know RemingtonPower is no longer in production? Replacement parts are very difficult to find and often eBay is the only option.

There is a note at Master Distributors that both the rotor and stator must be replaced with pn 113615-01 and 113610-01. I suggest you phone them for pricing (not available on net) 1 (888) 917-2244. I suspect combined cost in excess of $100 plus shipping.

If me, I would put the repair cost toward the purchase of a name brand electric saw that I would expect to be in business for at least 10 years. Any additional initial investment cost is usually defrayed in many fewer replacement parts necessary over the life time of the saw. Sometimes a lower initial expenditure is the most expensive.

I had no part in Remington's decision to cease production and should not be punished because you are disappointed in them. I provide a Very Helpful, honest answer, although not the one you hoped to hear; sorry.

If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. Thank you for using FixYa and Good Luck. HTH

Conector from pole saw to chain saw

You provide no model number, my results may not apply to your saw,
I went here:
Remington.com
http://shoppingcart.msservicecompany.com/Default.aspx

  • Typed "RPS96" into the "Model #:" window, then clicked search.
  • Clicked the RPS96 - 8 Ft. Electric Telescoping Pole Saw "View Model" link.
  • Clicked "View Illustrated Parts Breakdown" I think you want item 7, 107551-01, Pole Saw Assembly
  • Clear the "Model #:" window; type “107551-10” (coupling nut) in the “Search for your parts by Part #:” window and click search. NLA (Internet search for “Remington 107551-01 also NLA at every site that lists it.)
  • There is also a part number "111304-01" (thumb latch) depending on the pole you have installed. It is NLA at Remington but appears to be available at "Master parts"
http://www.masterparts.net/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=MPD&Product_Code=111304-01
Part #: 111304-01 Price: $9.60
Description: SPECIALTY PARTS: *KIT, BRACKET (DSSP-SH3) (REM-17)

If this is also NLA, try an Internet search for "Remington YourPartNumber". eBay may be your only source.

RemingtonPower has stopped production, Replacement parts are mostly exhausted. Eventually every part will be NLA.
I worked fairly hard to provide this answer. It is a very thorough answer and it is not fair to punish me if you are unhappy with Remington. Good Luck HTH

Was there a recall on 2002 mercury sable front coil springs before,my tire went flat and i was gona change it then noticed that it wasnt a small puncture but that the coil spring broke off and punctured it...

No recall
Your front suspension is a McPherson struts assembly type.
Maybe I do not have the right english wording to satisfy the purists but roughly the complete strut assembly unit at the bottom is attached to the knuckle by two strong bolts and at the top to the vehicule frame by 3 nuts on studs. The coil spring you're talking about is mounted and compressed between the strut assembly base support bracket/seat and the top plate of the assembly. By the way, the built in shock absorber is the component you see going from the bottom to the top trough your coil spring. To remove the coil spring or replace the strut itself you have to compress the coil spring using a coil spring compressor tool. It a relatively dangerous process for beginners because the coil spring is under important tension.
If you plan to keep your vehicule several years have your coil springs replaced by new one. In this case I would suggest to change both for an even behaviour of your vehicule. The main reason they broke is their aging but mostly due to bad shock absorbers (struts) so by the same time have new struts installed. For coil springs, struts parts and labour it could cost you $1,000 and more to have it replaced (both sides) depending on where you have your mecanic done.

If you don't plan to keep your vehicule on a long term, I suggest to get a complete used struts assembly for this side (includes struts and coil spring) at a scrap yard for $125 and less and have it installed for approx. 1 hour and less of labour time. It could be a cheap solution.

Do not have new tire installed before you fix it otherwise you will scrap the internal structure of you tire.

Hope it will help
