Windows XP desktop does not fit on my netbook screen- too big

Hi I downloaded Windows XP on my Asus netbook and the window doesnt fit all on the screen, i.e. i have to scroll around the page to get to the start menu or to the cross tab to close programmes. Is this normal or can it be fixed so i can see the whole screen on the netbook?

Hi,
Right click the desktop,
choose display settings
slide the slider to your choice, may have to test.
Should be good.
Regards
Richard.

Hi lottie,

Sounds like you are having a rough time, sorry to hear that. My advice would be to call Microsoft support. You can find the phone number here after answering a few question.

Bluetooth doesnt work- says no device. FN keys doesnt work on the screen, only turns on and off wireless.

You have to reinstall the ASUS Eee bluetooth driver. If you've your CD driver, insert it in and look for Bluetooth. Otherwise click on this Link to download it;

My asus eee pc 4g desktop is bigger than the screen size so i cant see in full and have to scroll up and down. any solutions?

In short, no. The resolution on those LCD panels is extremely small and was originally designed for the small proprietary OS that came on them. Eventually Asus started putting XP on some of them, which was designed for 800x600 at the very least. As a result a lot of standard Windows dialog boxes are taller than the screen and make access to the buttons on the bottom difficult. One solution would be to use an OS that's designed for LCD screens with low resolution, like Ubuntu Netbook Remix. The only other solution is to upgrade to a netbook with a higher resolution screen, like most of the 8" netbooks.

The screen display doesnt fit the screen, i have windows xp installed, and under properties the slide bar wont move so therefore i cant adjust it. help?

At a guess, you do not have the proper VGA drivers installed.

Official Downloads:
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

Go into Start -- Control Panel -- System (Classic View) -- Hardware -- Device Manager Tab.
Click on Graphics Card and uninstall and reboot.
