Repair dlp chip - LG HS201 Projector

I suspect you have a DLP TV. The problem is the DLP chip. The mirrors are stuck and the DLP chip needs replacement. Mitsubishi does not make a 72" TV so that is why I suspect its a DLP type. It is not user repairable and there is no trick to get around it. You need a repair person or a new TV. (get a new TV trust me)

Most likely you have a failing DLP chip. The DLP chip is the one that forms the image that is projected onto the screen. Search for "Mitsubishi Black Dot" in your search engine and you will see you are not alone. Apparently, a lot of DLP chips in Mitsubishi products are failing. With the low price of projectors these days, your best bet is replacing it. If you want to repair it yourself, the chip will run you about $200 to replace and may require soldering.

Its a DLP chip Basically its alot of super tiny mirrors that open and close at various times to produce the image. The dots your seeing are mirrors that have stuck and the only repair is to replace the DLP chip which is easy but pricey 300.00 you can get repair kits with installation instructions from www.tvrepairworld.com

Normally the dlp going bad would be white or black spots. Dead pixels. DMD/DLP is about 200$ from china. I've got a video of the repair on an ex51u

Thats a very coomon problem which is caused by a failed DLP chip. The mirrors get stuck and thats what causes the white spots they will keep multiplying untill the entire screen is filled. You will need to replace the DLP chip. You can get the replacement DLP chip and illustrated instructions on how to do the repair from www.tvrepairworld.com

Your problem is that the DMD device is failing. You're in luck, though. Mitubishi has recently released a replacement DMD device in order to keep repair costs down for the consumer. Take your TV to an authorized Mitsubishi servicer for repairs.

first clean the lens , if it dont help , then your Dlp chip is broken, there is no way to repair this at home because you cant buy spare parts,

Actually you must replace the DLP chip that is buried deep in the works of the tv. Unfortunately this can run into a nice lump of change. Do what I did. Perhaps you've heard the old addage

The random whit dots you are seeing is more than not the DMD or million little mirrors board. The white spots represent some of the mirrors that are sticking in the on position. In that case they are always reflecting white light from the lamp. I don't concider the DMD board a do it yourself repair since on the older DLP set it requires mechanical alignment as well. The best thing to do is contact a techincian and see what they might charge to repair the TV for you. Please take a few moments to rate my answer...Thanks..
