Question about Dewalt D51844 Framing Nailer
Posted by Anonymous on
Bad O ring in gun most likely. Usually happens on mine in the fire/reload phase. If its an oil lubricated gun give it a squirt of 3in1 if that doesn't help it will have to go to the repair place..

Could be a couple things, the seal ring on top of the cylinder or a cut oring or just a faulty trigger valve assembly. I would take it back and have the repair shop correct the problem for you at NC. Let me know if still a problem and I will look at a schematic and give you part numbers.

There is an o ring that seals the valve that is operated by the trigger. It sounds like this oring is defective, or missing. Home depot or lowes should have no problem returning this for you if it is less than 90 days. it is fairly complicated to disassemble.
