Question about Philips HDD1630 MP3 Player

Putting music in seperate folders

I bought my mother this MP3 player last year, and we havent been able to work it right. We can get the music on the player with no problem.. We just want it to be in its own category. For instance.. the soundtrack to 28 days later... some of the songs are in the 28 days later soundtrack folder, but some are in an unknown artist, or unknown album folder. How do I fix it so that all of the songs are in the proper folders?

Thank you

Hm, Tricky. Are they un-named in the Unknown artists folder? I know what you're talking about though.. Maybe if you try putting them in the correct folders in your computers Music folder. Like.. All the 28 days later songs go into the 28 days later soundtrack folder (If you don't have one, it's easy to make a folder for stuff.) When you open up your music space of your computer, the part where it says File and Folder Tasks. First thing it says in this box is, Make a New Folder. Easy. So, you make a new folder and place all the music for that cd in it. (If it already isn't) Then make sure they all have the correct artist name and stuff.. Any way.. I hope this helps, but I can barely understand it.. Any way..

How do I make seperate folders on my mp3 player to organise my music?

When you connect the MP3 player to your computer and the computer detect the player as an external storage device, you can then view the folder on your MP3 player. Open the music folder and create a new folder on the player exactly the same way you create a folder on your computer's hard drive. To organise your music, make a folder name with the name of the music album and place the album's MP3 files in this folder.
You will then be able to select the music you want to play by the music album folder.

How can I download music from my computor not using Rhapsody?

There are a number of ways to get MP3's. The easiest way is to use W*ndows Media Player. Open Media Player go to the menu at the top, if you do not see -these menu names, (File, View, Play, Tools, Help). Right click on the top border and chose -> View -> classic menu's -- that will show the these menu's. Now go to -> Tool's -> options, look for the Rip Music tab and look for the format option --->chose MP3. Now, up top, of the Rip Music tab is a save folder option and you can chose which folder you want to save your music in. Then at the bottom is a slider bar that lets you chose how good a MP3 you get after it is ripped. The lower the number the smaller the file and lower quality it will be. A good setting is 96 to 120, inbetween in there will be good file size and good sound quality. Now you have the option to rip when a CD is put in the bay or not, that is a personal preference, so that is up to you. Now click ok and close the Media Player. Now put in a music CD that you want to rip and if you choosed to have it rip whan a cd was inserted it will open and start to rip your music. Then hook up your MP3 player and go to, My Computer icon -> right click it ---->and chose explore go to the -> C:\ drive or folder tree and find the folder you put your ripped music into. Right click your music folder and click copy, now go to your player folder tree choose paste putting your MP3's in the players Music folder. Now if you want to download MP3's from the net. It will depend on which Browser you use. Any MP3's you download from the net comes with a license that has to go with the MP3 that you bought. I just by a CD and rip it No worries for a license. You can Use other software to rip music such as itunes, realplayer among others. But W*ndows comes with Media Player and it is a easy upgrade to ver 10 or 11 if you do not have it, and It is free. Hope this helps.

Music from burnt cds...won't go to assigned folder

thats the way the software works. I'd suggest using an option like within winamp - where it looks for media tags and fills in all the appropriate information as to artist and genre for you. Winamp will do this with songs that have absolutely no information in them whatsoever (like burns) but it cant with homemade files like your buddy's garage band. The only way to seperate it besides folders is within playlists.

Putting music into playlist

do not ADD mp3 tracks into the playlist folder. this is not how it works. connect the player to the pc, then transfer mp3s into the MUSIC folder. Get into the foled, right click on song you want to be on playlist, and option PLAYLIST comes up. press on it and a new window will open, with playlist options. you can drag and drop mp3s in there, and so you'll have your playlist.

I Dont know how to insert music into my player

I usually copy all my stuff to the root directory (the one that comes right after you clicked on the sansa icon in MY COMPUTER). If it still doesn't work maybe your USB port is damaged try the other one. Another option which I always recommend is to format the sansa by right clicking on its icon on MY COMPUTER and choosing Format. Let me know if it helped.
