Question about Konica Minolta magicolor 2480 MF All-In-One Laser Printer

1 Answer

PC won't recognize printer -- drivers installed and cords connected.

A few days ago my printer would no longer accept printing commands from the computer. We have reinstalled the printer drivers from both the original CD and obtained a driver from the net, following installation instructions from pg. 25 of the original Installation Guide which came with the printer. The PC (XP) does not recognize that there is a printer, but functions as a copier quite well. We've obviously checked all the connections -- all is well. I need help getting my PC to talk to my Magicolor. Help!

Thanks for the suggestion to check the control panel, but the printer is not listed there, so we cannot choose it as the primary printer.

We've reinstalled the software for the printer twice: once with the original CD and again with a downloaded version, using the exact step-by-step instructions in the original manual. The software does not show up as installed! Thanks again.

We have figured a way to correct the problem. We plugged the usb cord into another port, then restarted the computer. It found new hardware, and looked for the printer driver on the pc. Best I can figure, a printing job got "stuck" in the spooler and somehow confused the pc. But the printer and computer are communicating once again, and I can print! Whew.

The software that you installed for the printer should be found in c:\program files

At least I believe so, go into my computer and then the c: drive and then into the folder called program files and then see if you can find any folder thats related to the printer. If you can then there might be a way to manually install the printer.

Go into the the control panel and the into the printers icon and see if your printer is located in there and if it is make sure its set as the default printer.

Pc won't accept printer via usb connection

So why won't it accept the printer? Is the printer and your operating system on the computer compatible? Did you install the printer and drivers? Are you sure the USB Port works?
Have you tried a different USB Port?

Click Start/Control Panel and look for Printers. Open it and make sure you don't have more than one instance of the printer installed. If you do, then you're confusing the computer. You can also check to see if more than one of the same printer is installed by opening a word document, then click File, then Print, and when the print window opens up click the Down Arrow on the line that shows the printer name. This will show you all other installed printers.

My printer won't shut off or print, lights keep blinking, computer won't boot if printer is on, must pull the power cord. Does my printer have a short in it?

In most cases the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer ONLY WHEN PROMPTED, to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the ink levels.
Activate head cleaning before a test is taken. Sometimes it is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the PC command or can be an issue with ink drying or poor ink cartridge contacts.

Need to connect my printer kodak esp-3 to my laptop using a usb cord

Install the software for your printer on your laptop. Then connect the usb cable to the printer and the pc will recognize it. Then just print as normal. The pc will not recognize the printer until the software has been installed. If you have lost your driver disk, you can download a free copy from Kodak's website.

Why won't my printer print after I installed the software? It says its ready but nothing will print

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.

2. Rebrick (pull out power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds).

2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

3. Delete the Lexmark print object.

4. Reboot your pc.

5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.

6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, then try to print/scan again.

I keep getting this message from my computer when I turn on my Canon MP160 printer: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43). It was working perfectly a few days ago then...

Code 43 is the death code - the unit that is generating it has stopped responding to the commands from the pc, it's dead and nothing will bring it back to life.
Nothing left to do but buying a new printer.

Hp Laserjet P1007 taking too much time to cancel print command

Boss their three things can be possible for this

First the operating system,
second your printer driver and third your printer or your pc is old and need to be serviced.

So step one: delete the driver(whatever your model no.)of your printer, turn off your pc and reboot then install this again, I hope this will solve your problem.

Step two: connect your printer with any other pc(turn off your pc connect power cord into wall socket and connect U.S.B. cable with pc, Now turn on pc and the printer) which have the spesific printer driver installed.

I hope this will solve your problem.

thanks

Photosmart 3310 is on network but not recognized wirelessly

Sounds like another Vista Bug, i would check the HP site for this issue and if its under warranty, contact HP. If you have alot of Blue tooth devices hooked up, it may be that its trying to use another device in its place or the signals are getting crossed, im not positive.

Its like when you have to many network drives all hooked up and you plug in a USB device, Windows pops up those anoying bubles saying its detected, but in My computer it doesnt show.

So bassically you have to right click my computer, manage, disk management listed uder storage, right click on the device or drive and change the drive letter to something like " W" or " Z" or anything not in use.

It may be a siomilar case with your bluetooth, youo may have to much stuff connected. Try redoing everything like you have so many other times before, and then limiting how many bluetooth devices you have connected at the same time. see if theres a difference.

Hope this helps.
