SOURCE: gasket is leaking on LG refrigerator's freezer door

Generally you can just pull off the old gasket when the new one arrives, they sit in a small channel which you can use a thin screw driver to push it into gently, or the other one has a panel that holds the gasket in which needs to be unscrewed to remove the gasket. My best guess would be the first one. It takes time to put the gasket on so be patient when pushing it into the track, a thin blunt tool would be best

Door Latch

Larry, I believe you have to remove the inside door frame cover, starting at the top and working your way down. The cover should snap out and away from the door. Next would be the gasket bracket clips. With a flat tip screw driver insert into the seam between the gasket bracket and the door frame and pry out until the clips snap out. Then proceed to remove the gasket from the channel. Catriver.

Model# RT18DKXEW05 parts

Repair clinic has booth door gaskets
the refrigerator gasket is $91.60
The freezer door gasket is $72.95

If the unit is working good it might be worth it to replace the gaskets if unit is in good shape and you only need one of the 2 gaskets I would replace it. if needs both you need to see what a replacement unit costs and make a decision

My LG model LRFC25750TT french door gaskets are shot. Any tips on (a) where to order new ones (L & R); (b) how to remove old ones; (c) how to install new ones -- screws to take out or not, tools...

Ok the gaskets should be press in type. No tools just a hairdryer to take out any wrinkles from shipping. And just go slow dont stretch too much. And you can buy from sears parts driect. Just have your model number ready. I hope this helps.

How do I replace door Gasket?

White plastic strip just to the refrig side of the center gasket needs to be removed first, then gasket pulled back enough to reveal gasket retainer. Use a flat bade screwdriver to pop out the white clips at the top and bottom allowing strip to be removed. Now gasket can be easily pulled out of groove. Be careful when re-installing clips to get springs in correctly.

LG Refridgerator LFC257060ST Keeps Beeping

Please check whether the doors are aliened properly to the body and if there is a small warp it could result in escaping of cooling resulting in poor cooling of both the freezer and the refrigerator chamber.

The magnetic gasket is the next reason for poor cooling. So please ensure that the gaskets are having magnet attached to the full length. Broken magnetic strip inside the gasket could also result in partial closing of the door leaving behind plenty of gap allowing the cooling to escape.

Just insert a visiting card between the gasket and the body and if you could do so then the gasket is not effective and requires replacement.
