Question about Maytag MZD2766GES Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

Ice cubes are frozen but will not eject into the ice bin.

It seems the cube are frozen in the tray but they will not eject into ice bin. When I checked it looked like the tray may have over filled a little so it might just be one piece of ice. There was a small icicle hanging down from the tray. I just need to know how to get the ice out and see if it will work on its own. Thanks, fatrob62@hotmail.com

Use a hair blow dryer to warm up the frozen cubes and get them out of there. Then while the ice cube forming tray is empty dry it off and spray it with PAM cooking spray or another cooking spray similar to it.

Sub zero 650 slow ice maker

Hi Maureen,

Your sub-zero 650 should produce about 8 cubes every 2 hours. It sounds like the heater beneath the ice maker may be wearing out. Ice makers use a heating mechanism to warm the cubes in the mold and force them to easily eject. If the heater is failing in the back slot, it could cause the ice cube to get stuck. If this is the case, you usually need to replace the part or the entire ice maker.

It is also possible the mechanism isn't properly aligned. You could try adjusting it.

You can find two manual on FixYa here: http://www.fixya.com/support/p24667-sub_zero_650_o_bottom_freezer

Otherwise, I suggest contacting their customer service or a technician: http://www.subzero-wolf.com/contact-and-support/index.aspx

Best of Luck!

I have a GE Profile Side by side that is working fine except the ice maker won't dump the frozen ice cubes in the tray. Another party in the house decided it would be a good idea to put water in the tray...

The ice maker is basically frozen. There are two fixes for this condition. If you can transfer all of the food out to another appliance you can unplug and open the doors and let it completely defrost on its own.

the other method is to use a blow dryer. When you have completely defrosted the ice maker and thoroughly dryed it spray the ice cube tray with pam cooking spray which will act as a lubricant. When you are ready to make ice again expect the ice maker to take about 24 hours before the first batch of ice cubes are ejected.

AMANA ARB2257C ice maker makes noise/doesn't eject cubes into bin

Hi: First off make sure the fridge is level. Is It too high in front? Making the rear of the icemaker overflow and jam? Also make sure the freezer section is a zero degrees, not just frozen. Ice cream should be rock hard. I hope this helps you avoid calling service. Thank You, Jeff

Ice cubes are frozen but will not eject into the ice bin. I need to know how to get them out.

HI, You can use a hair dryer to the bottom side of the ice maker and it will let the cylce finish and remove the cubes. Can you tell if the cycle has started?
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Thanks

Empty all ice from the bin and from the "Drill" like Ice shaper spinning unit. Let the unit make some new ice and see if that works.

My ice freezes together!

Do you mean the ice cubes are too large to be individual cubes and come out as a lump? The water is filled by a timed fill so if the fill solenoid stays open a little and drips water into the cube tray it will have more water than normal. I guess I'm not sure if you mean the ice cubes are stuck together in the tray or are they sticking together in the holding bin area?
