Sounds like the carburetor is in need of repair/cleaning. Have you made sure the gap on the plugs are correct and that it is a "hot" enough plug? Have you used good gas? The gas out there now is really ******* little motors. We use sea foam in almost everything we own that has a motor! Just the settings can be off enough to allow it to back fire. Poor idle, and sputter. Most people will tell you it is the timing, usually a fuel issue instead. I know it is an issue on my grandson's Kawasaki snow mobile. So it might be the same on yours. good luck

Ski-doo won't stay running or idle

sounds like it could be the air to fuel ratio. if it only want to run with the choke on. I would say to make sure all your nuts and bolts are tight and that you check the gaskets in between the carb and the motor. another thing you could do is get a can of starting fluid and spray it around the carb while the motor is running (do not spray it in the carb)if the idle changes or if it dies you need to replace gaskets.

Help!! '97 Seadoo GTI, just had the carburetor rebuild, replaced the Rectifier Regulator, replaced the spark plugs and recharged the battery. But the jet ski would only reach 40mph and it would bog down to...

Sounds like you might have the rotary valve in the wrong position. Also you are going to need to replace your fuel lines and check the fuel petcock for any blockage. Lastly, when u rebuilt this carb did you check the tiny fuel filter behind the pump body?

2002 gti sea doo wont turn over on the first try

if you have one of the kill cords that is round and it snaps onto a round button that has a silver dot in the center that when the kill lanyard is snapped into place makes a connection to the silver part inside of the kill lanyard itself. most the time its because it is still verifying that it is the right key. they are programed to match you CDI box/ignition module of your ski. this prevents theft. if you clean both the key and the button the key connects to with some rubbing alcohol to insure a good clean connection will most likely solve the problem. when you put the key on the ski you should hear a beep then wait 5 to 10 seconds before hitting the start stop button . that gives the ski time to recognize the key is in fact the correct key to the ski.. hope this helps

I ran it out of fuel because of guage --- filled tank to the absolute brim, only fires if you give fuel in cylinder --- fully charged battery --- can hear pump when pull rope -- will not start -- ran...

from time to time water contamination is in the tank and when you run the machine out of fuel the pump picks that water up and now it is sitting in the bottom of the carbs. drain the carburetor bowls and disconnect the fuel line from the carbs and run fuel out for a few squirts,, re attach the hoses and then try and start it. ( 9 times out of 10 this will fix the problem ). also -- check and clean the plugs as they might be wet and fouled from the water.

Take your carburetor apart and clean it. There is moisture corrosion that is keeping the needle from moving. Be careful not alter the little teeter totter spring in any way.

89 dodge shadow. hard start. normal idle cold, fast idle warm. sometimes it wont start until i hear fuel pump activate.

Hello,
The car may be hard to start because it may need a normal tune-up. If the spark plugs are pretty used, they will slowly stop burning as much fuel because the spark slowly gets lesser and lesser. On a cold day the fuel is harder to ignite with a small amount of spark.
Normal idle when its cold means that your cars idle is probably too high. If you lower the idle, the choke on a cold day will keep the idle a little higher until the motor warms and then it will kick back off. If the idle is too high, it will run very rich, smothering itself with fuel, and causing the idle to stay low. When the car warms, its creating better spark when its warm, and with the idle being too high its running at a fast idle.
The car wont start sometimes can be the cause of a few things. If the ground is bad on the fuel pump, it wont make a good connection sometimes for when you turn the key on, the fuel pump dont pump the fuel to the engine. Another one can be that your accessory switch can be loose going to the fuel pump. I think its your ground though. Good luck! Hope this helps.
Have a nice day. -Steve

1977 yz80 wont start. Cleaned carburetor, checked magneto, but cant get to start having problems getting spark, replaced plug.

If you have a spark, but weak. It is possible that your flywheel is demagnetised. Then you'll need a spare.
If sparks are good, then the spark plug should be moisted with fuel after a few ( 10 ) choke kickstarts. If so you'll have a weak compression. Then you have to at least clean out the piston ring grooves ( dismount cilinderhead and cilinder ), or even change the piston rings or overbore the cilinder and place a new oversize piston kit.
If spark plug stays dry when kickstarting, the carburettor is faulty. Clean it out, check also the choke system. Check the air intake between carb and cilinder for air leaks.

When i go to start the ski doo it doesn't want to start, but when i pore gas in the spark plugs it fires burns the gas then dies

first of all check your fuel filter and then the fuel line,it can be the fuel line inside the tank (if it do it only when in low gas)it can be the fuel pump or the suction line from the motor base i hope it will help
