The drain is frozen over and water cannot escape when it defrosts. You will need to remove the back panel inside the freezer and run some hot water down the drain until it has thawed. Hope this helps

SOURCE: JCD2389DES Water Leak Problem

Once I saw that the drain tube went up over the coil before draining into the evaporator pan I decided to buy a small piece of flexible plastic tubing and re-route the tube so the water could freely flow down hill. It's been over two months with no additional problems. I can assume that since the water drains freely it doesn't stay trapped in the elbow freeze and the cause the collector tray to ultimately overflow.

SOURCE: 10 yr old GE side by side: freezer is leaking

Your drain is frozen up and so every time unit goes into defrost the water refreezes in the freezer's bottom. You either have to shut fridge off completely and let it dethaw or use hot water and an ice pick to hurry up the process. The drain is located in the very back of freezer. You will have to pull out the bottom drawer to see it. Good luck

SOURCE: leaking freezer

Self-defrosting refrigerators usually dispose of the water generated during the defrost cycle via a tube or channel that directs the water to a pan at the bottom of the refrigerator. From the pan, the water normally evaporates. If the tube or channel is clogged or obstructed, the water backs up and leaks into the inside of the refrigerator compartment. Then the water builds up at the bottom, inside of the refrigerator. When the water has built up for a time it may spill out of the front of the door opening. To fix this problem, clear the drain tube or channel and allow the defrost water to flow down to the drain pan. In some refrigerators, the defrost water is intentionally directed down the back wall of the refrigerator, where it then flows to the bottom of the refrigerator compartment and out to a small drain--usually located beneath one of the drawers at the bottom of the refrigerator. If the drain becomes clogged or blocked, the water may back up. To fix this problem, clear the obstruction. Another cause may be the following. The refrigerator may have doorframe heaters to evaporate any condensation on the cabinet frame. If your refrigerator is equipped with a switch inside that says ?energy saver? or something similar, while running in that mode the door heaters are disabled. Turn the switch to the opposite setting and wait 24 hours. If the condensation disappears the problem is solved. please do not forget to rate the solution.thanks.

SOURCE: Maytag refrigerator is leaking water

Your freezer has a drain that leads to the exterior drain pan beneath the unit. Occasionally this drain can become clogged resulting in standing water inside your freezer, due to line freeze over. This can, also, cause a run-off, as stated in your post. In the freezer, standing water will become ice and may result in defrost problems or inadequate coldness.

You will need to Clear the drain by forcing a solution of water and bleach or water and baking soda into the drain line with a basting syringe. If the solution will not flow through, slide a length of ¼ inch flexible tubing into the drain tube to push the clog through to the drain pan. Remove the tubing after clearing the clog. This will correct the issue.

The drain is located either on the floor of the refrigerator, beneath the vegetable crisper, or in the wall behind a drain funnel.

NOTE_It is important for the refrigerator to be level. If it is not level, doors may not open or close properly and may not seal tightly. Also, drainage from the defrost cycle might be impaired as might the ice making cycle. The appliance was engineered based on it being installed in a level position. While there may be some tolerance for out-of-level installation, the appliance will operate at its best when properly leveled.

Place a level on top of the refrigerator near the front. Do not put it on the door because the door may not be aligned with the refrigerator case. Check that the refrigerator is level from side to side. Next turn the level to check that it is level from front to back.

If it is not level, adjust one or more of the adjustable leveling feet until it is level. The feet are bolts that can be turned to raise or lower the refrigerator. If they cannot be adjusted with your fingers, use a crescent wrench or pliers.

If you have an ice-maker, it should also be checked for level after first leveling the refrigerator. An ice-maker that is out of level will spill water into the ice bin or into the freezer. It can be repositioned by loosening the mounting screws, adjusting it for level and then re-tightening the screws.

Ge adora draining on floor

Possible that the defrost water drain tank is full and is overflowing. Also it can be due to leaks from the Auto-defrost cycle , the tube could be leaking or the connecting tubes are loose.
Observe the leak point and go further into tracing the case. Check the setting of the thermostat and make it to normal settings

Water leaks on the floor occassionly may happen during defrost GE Model TDC18PAAWW

Hi,Before jumping to conclusions about why your refrigerator is leaking, do a thorough inspection. Many times, it will be easy to see where the water is coming from and from that point deduce the problem. For instance, water leaking from the back is usually due to an ice maker issue, water from the side of the refrigerator is usually due to a faulty door or gasket, a leaking drain pan,a clogged defrost drain pan.

Thanks and good luck

12 yr old ge refrigerator leaks water on kitchen floor occassiona

common issue.....sounds like a drain clog in the freezer compartment above. remove the freezer rear panel and totally defrost the evaporator area, directly under the evap you see( under all taht ice) a small drain hole that has become frozen over, try defrosting with either a hair dryer( not a heat gun too much heat youl melt everything) or by pouring hot water donw the drain until you get a free flow of water down the tube. after its clear reassemble and you should be fine

GE TFX20JR side by side/water leaks out freezer during defrost

Yes, you are correct, that is a drain. Use a turkey baster with hot (not boiling) water to flush out the drain tube until water will flow out into the drain pan under the refrig. (where the air blown over it will cause it to evaporate)
