U-Line ice maker compressor won't run

Dose compressor fell too hot ? There could be several things wrong. First you will need to get out your Volt meter to make all test. With unit calling for freeze cycle the condenser fan and compressor should be running. Check at the compressor to make sure your getting power to the over load switch and then through it to compressor. if not then check to see if compressor is to hot and has the switch open> If so then unplug unit to let compressor cool down so switch will close. when switch closes plug unit back up and start up unit check to see it compressor starts if so then you will need to see what is causing compressor to over heat. could be dirty condenser, low charge, fan dropping out, Bad compressor.

Pressure switch 120 volt compressor how to bypass pressure switch

Un-plug the compressor and remove the cover to the pressure switch. Inspect wire connections for burned /discolored wires. If not burned, look for button to manually trip switch (switch has on /off lever, place in on position). Test with ohm meter for continuity. Switch is normally closed and contacts are usually visable to evaluate condition. Some compressors use a very small sealed pressure switch that is also normally closed.

Have you checked the thermal protector switch on the compressor? If you probe the wire with a test light and the compressor comes on replace the switch.

I cannot get the air compressor to kick on in a 96 mercury cougar, new blower switch, new compressor.

Have you heck to see if there is power through the switch to the compressor? It sound like a wiring problem. If there is power to the switch and it is getting to the compressor you may have a bad compressor again. Also chck an make sure the compressor is grounded properly.

A/C Compressor won't turn on Can jump compressor from battery and compressor comes on & cools. Hi pressure switch checks out ok and 12 volts going to hi pressure switch no voltage to compressor

the high pressure switch kicks the compressor off when the pressure rises, the low pressure switch kicks it on, check that switch, unplug the wire and use a continuity meter to see if the switch functions, also check for power getting to the plug itself

Cut off switch problem

The pressure switch will trip off when the compressor reaches the rated setting (usually 120 ~150psi). If the compressor keeps running untill the safety pops releasing air (usually about 160psi) then the switch is most likely problem. I use SquareD switch from WWW.Grainger.com. However if the compressor keeps running but never pops the safety and only reaching around 90 to 100psi, then you could have several other issues including: leaking fittings (check with soapy water), worn cylinder and piston (on oilfree compressor examine cylinder from below and look for scratches), leaking valves on oil type compressor. Please email with your finding and any questions Good Luck

The fridge is not cooling at all there is a clicking noise every 30 secs to one min. the model number is ptb1553grw

it sounds like a bad:
  •       start switch (on the side of the compressor) or
  •       compressor itself

the start switch clicks  off usually when the compressor is pulling too many amps or the compressor is overheating. if the compressor is not even running then its probably not overheating.
so either the compressor is pulling too many amps
(bad compressor) or the start switch is bad and cannot handle the amps required to start the compressor.
