When ignitor gets worn it will come on but not get hot enough to open the gas valve. You will need a new ignitor

How Do I manually light my oven.?

most likely you have a bad ignitor, you can't lite it like older ovens it has an electronic ignition.when the ignitor draws a certain amount of amps.the gas is let in and the flame ignites,if it glows it still can be bad, once it glows it should ignite the flame within 40 seconds.part number 492431 and it's around 70 dollars. go here http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Bosch-Parts/Range-Parts/Model-HGS435UC01/1794/0124002?searchedModel=HGS435UC&blt=11 go to oven cabinet parts and look at part 309,this is your ignitor.

Flame does not always stay on after ignition, sometimes it does and when it doesnt you open and close the door for re- light ?

Opening and closing the door will reset the ignition sequence, do not do this repeatedly as you could cause a build-up of unburned gas in your heat exchanger and damage it. Instead verify that your ignitor is glowing, then see if the burner lights and make sure the flame carries all the way down to the bottom of the burner. If the flame stalls halfway or doesn't make it all the way to the bottom in 4 seconds after 3 attempts you will experience an ignition lockout, a safety feature built into your ignition module. If this is the case your burner needs to be cleaned and serviced, have a professional do it.
If the flame is reaching the bottom of the burner but still going out after about 4 seconds then you have a dirty/broken flame sensor. You can attempt to clean your flame sensor by removing the screw that holds it into the burner. With it removed it will look like a metal rod going through some ceramic, clean the metal rod part with a wire brush or emory cloth (fine sandpaper). Replace the flame rod and try again and see if the burner stays on this time. If it still goes out your burner needs to be serviced by a licensed technician.

Hello when i put my temp for my gas stove on say 350, the pilot is glowing but it doesnt seem to flame/heat up, and i get a somewhat odor of gas, could the therometer need replacing or maybe the ignition...

Your glowbar ignitor part must be replaced, Unplug the range and turn off the gas. Remove yje oven racks, The oven base pan. Then remove the flame spreader. You will see the glowbar ignitor attached to the side of the bake burner. Remove it and replace it with a new ignitor. Replace all the range parts.Turn on the power and turn on the gas supply.

Copy and paste this site for the location of the ignitor you can also purchase the part from them.

When i turn on my gas oven sometimes it lights but most times it does not.

It is likley that the ignitor is failing and need to be replaced. If you watch thru the window when turning on, you'll see a bright orange glow as the oven ignitor heats up to ignite the gas.

Even though the ignitor will still glow bright orange, it could be getting weak and might have to be replaced.

The other thing that might need to be looked at is the flame/temp sensor. If that isn't working correctly, it's possible that you aren't getting any gas consistently to the oven so the ignitor can ignite the gas. The sensor has to heat up in order for the gas valve to open, allowing gas to flow into the oven and thus get ignited for a flame to occur.

Without the model number, I can't provide you with the replacement parts for your range. However, you can go to www.searspartsdirect.com and enter in your exact model number and get a list and price for the parts I've described. Just enter in your model number in the "find a part" search and you'll get all drawings for your range. If your model is very old, you might have to call them in order to get the part numbers and pricing.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

My stove will not ignite...but the burners do

There is no pilot. The oven has an electric ignitor to light the flame. This ignitor is very common repair.
You can remove the floor panel inside the oven and start the oven. Watch to see if the ignitor glows. Even if the ignitor glows, it should ignite the flame with in 30 seconds. They get weak and don't pull enough amps to open the gas valve.
I hope this helps you. please let me know if I can assist you further.

No heat it starts but the igniter doesnt light the gas

First thing to check is the ignitor underneath the drum. (You have to open the panel to see it)  It should glow shortly after the dryer starts, then the flame starts and the ignitor shuts off.  If the ignitor does not glow then the thermostat is bad.  If the ignitor is glowing but the gas does not light then the gas valve coils may have to be replaced.   If the gas ignites but does not stay on either the flame sensor or the coils are at fault.

Lighting an old Frigidaire gas oven

Sounds as though the pilot light in your oven went out. On the inside of the oven there should be a small hole about the size of a 50cent piece on the floor of the oven. Turn on the gas for the oven, light a matchstick or rolled up piece of paper, stick it into that hole and it should light, monitor the oven for 30 seconds to see if it starts to heat. SAFETY 1st!

Ignitor problem?

if you remove the 2 screws on the right and left bottom plate and open the door and youll see 2 screws that panel will come off turn the oven on and you should see 2 burners on both sides and they should ignite.if they do and go right out you could have 2 problems.when the burners light they hit a probe called a flame sense.this probe plugs into a heat board and if the board doesnt sense the flame you will get a red no ignition light.clean the probes that sit right on the burners with sandpaper and see what happens,if that doesnt work if the unit has pilots clean the pilot orfice and if that doesnt work the heat board may be bad.how old is the unit?
