SOURCE: Water Won't drain fro the dishwasher model Blanco bfdw650s

If you "Lower" the hose to the bucket and it "drains" you are just using gravity to remove the water. The pump may be helping a little but if you raise the hose up and the water stops coming out, it's a good indication that the pump is bad. Unless the place you are attaching the hose to is plugged up, you need a new pump or a new impellor. Since the motor is good, try to get a replacement impellor, that the thing that moves the water. One other thing, you did say how well it washes the dishes? If the impellor is bad, it probably doesn't.

I have inherited a Blanco Bfdw 650s Dishwasher and there seems to be a manual dial as opposed to automatic ones which is what I'm used to...does this mean I have to stay home to help the machine perform...

No! Set the cycle you want first (A/B/C) THEN turn it on. It will just run through. I've just found my PDF instructions and trying to work out a way to upload them.

Tip

Wont start or dead dishwasher, no lights, no power, thermal fuse

If you have a dishwasher that is not doing anything, the first thing to check is the incoming power. Make sure the circuit breaker is on and not tripped.

Another place to loose power to the dishwasher is under the sink if it is plugged in to an outlet. It could have come disconnected.

The third place to look is a wall switch. If you have a switch that does not operate a light in the kitchen it may be connected to the dishwasher power source.

If all of these are okay the next place to check is the junction box of the dishwasher. To check here you will want to turn the breaker off first or remove power from the cord before taking panels off. By removing the kick plate or lower panel on the dishwasher you can access the electrical junction box. Many times the wire connectors were not properly installed in this box and over a period of time the connection is lost. This connection should be made by a professional.

If we have power to the dishwasher a common component to fail on many brand such as Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Kenmore, Maytag is the thermal fuse. This device is a two wire heat activated fuse that if tripped will disable the dishwasher. This thermal fuse is attached to the control circuit board that is usually in the console in the upper portion of the door. It can be checked with an ohmmeter just like a regular fuse. When replacing this fuse it may come as a kit with wire connectors, be sure to use all of the parts in the kit. The fuse often will blow due to a loose wire connection on or near the fuse, that is why new connectors are supplied.

A sample image of a typical thermal fuse kit is shown below.

We replaced the heating element and control board

Hi Paul,

First off check to make sure you have incoming power, that the circuit breaker is not tripped or fuse blown, the outlet it is connected to has power, no switch that controls that is off.

If power is going to the dishwasher the most common reason for the unit to be dead like this would be the thermal fuse. The thermal fuse is a device that clips on to the control board you just replaced. It senses the temperature of the board and trips if it gets too hot. My guess is that it either is not clipped on to the new board in the right spot or one of the wire connections to the board or this fuse is not tight and creating enough heat to trip it.

You will need to replace this fuse if it is bad, it will come with new wires for it. Be sure to install the new wires, the kit will have instructions.

We have a Blanco BFDW 650S dishwasher approx 6 years old. We have been quoted over $450 to replace the inlet valve. Is it worth spending this on a machine this old? Am I being overcharged for this work as...

When you buy Bosch, you buy quality, quality costs, it is that simple. That price for you valve is a bout normal, but there are other consumables that are used as well, as travel, and labor. etc. You need to contact your Bosch agent in your local area and inquire there, they will direct you to a properly trained professional, again, which one must pay for. If you want to do it yourself, it is indeed possible, what one man can do, so can another, as they say. I will give you some links below. You also need a service manual they are hard to find, there are pay sites however, simply Google Blanco BFDW 650S service manual (enter) and look through listing for a PDF file to download.

I have a stoves dishwasher i do not know model or serial no only just its a stoves DW 60 it turn on but as soon as the door is closed to start the wash it blow the trip in the fuse box

Its one of two things. Either its your heating element or your motor. Look underneath and also inspect for water having possibly splashed around. Remove both element wires from terminals and place them safely as not to touch anything when testing. If macine now doesnt trip off, you have found the problem. If it does, remove the motor wires and retest. If still tripping, check where power enters the machine. There is a line filter. on occasion it blows and shorts to earth.(remember, when removing these wires, pull plug out of socket.
