We have virgin wireless and a wireless adaptor but it is telling me that my signal it to low is there anything i can do to boost the signal

There are a few 'signal boosters' can you purchase that claim to boost the signal.
But, honestly, most of them are a scam.
I'd save your money and just ghetto-fy it.
Basically, put a metal pie pan underneath your virgin mobile adapter, this will amplify the signal.
For free.

I have a HPPavillion laptop with built in wireless. Is there anything I can buy to strenghten my signal to a wireless router.

No , thers nothing to boost the PC unless you go with a wireless N card, BUT, there IS equiptment for boosting the signal from your router and it will depend on which router you have.
Since you didnt post the make and madel of your laptop or router , this is just going to be a general fix.
Go to Yahoo, google, ETC. Search for "xxxxxx wireless signal booster ". xxxxxx being the make of router you are using now.
For example, i searched linksysy and found one for linksys: http://www.bizrate.com/networkingproducts/linksys-wireless-g-range-expander-router-wireless-signal-booster--pid11678449/index__kw--wireless+g+booster__qcid--1402153.html

Wireless

There are several ways to boost the signal from your router. One, you could try moving it to a central location of the house..the more walls and obstacles, the worse the signal. Try moving any cordless phones away from due to the wireless phones transmitting on the same frequency causing interference. You could also purchase a repeater from an electronics store..I believe AirLink makes one. These devices intercept the original signal and act as a booster..you would try to center this device in your home as well. You could also purchase a better antenna for your router with a higher gain output. Just some suggestions.

Good Luck

Low signal

The only way to boost the signal is to upgrade the internal wireless card to a card with more range. Research the various Broadcom and Intel wireless cards and find one that meets the range you need. Most of the cards are interchangeable, so even though it may not have been offered for your machine, it will work, with the proper drivers.
